nagpa-brace po ako last week...but the day after eh may natanggal agad na isa sa may lower area near the molars. then after mga 3 days naging 3 na ang naaalis sa pagkadikit sa teeth..is it because hindi nai-glue maigi? i think what made it worst is nung nag-snap yung wire from both ends. i tried to insert them back. but each time i chew my food naalis pa rin kaya natutusok gums ko. so i ended up cutting those loose wires. i remember sabi kasi ni doc papalitan naman daw yun ng thicker wires in the future. are these things normal?
^ They're not normal. What did you use to cut the wires? How much did you pay for your braces?
i used a nail clipper, it was too easy to cut.
^ Best not to cut your wires though, malamang magtatanggalan lahat ng brackets mo. Parang domino effect kasi yan, one gets loose then they all get loose one by one. Better to cover the poking area with ortho wax and have your treatment provider fix it for you.
Yeah, masyado mababa singil sa iyo. You get what you pay for Ako nga I charge P80,000 to P140,000 for braces. You might need a bite opening appliance, something that will prevent you from biting on your brackets for the meantime.
Six months ago I have had Prophylaxis. It was my first time in 7 years. The procedure took me around 2 hours. I had a lot of stains since I'm a tea drinker. It was very traumatic for me, torture I may say. It was not even teeth sensitivity, it was gruelling pain like I was being electrocuted.
Now, I need to undergo this again, now with pasta so that moving forward it won't hurt that much since my holes are gonna get filled.
Do we have dentists here that uses dental anesthesia for Prophylaxis? Please recommend and how much? Thanks!
^ Pwedeng segment by segment ang gawin para hindi magiging manhid yung buong bibig ( which will be difficult for the patient ). Instead of 1 appointment, you will be treated in 5 appointments (1 appointment for 1 segment). Cost per appointment would be P5,000 to P10,000.
Halimbawa, for all your teeth, P5,000 x 5 appointments = P25,000 in total. Kasama na dito yung anesthesia.
^ Scaling and Polishing costs P800 to P1000 per appointment. This is what patients refer to as "cleaning". Scaling and Polishing can usually be done in 10 to 15 minutes. What is removed will be those that are stuck to the crown, above the gumline.
You mentioned your previous treatment lasted 2 hours. That can't just be because of tea stains, there's something more to it. You probably have calculus ( or what is referred as "tartar" ) below the gumline. Above the gumline instruments called Scalers can be used. Below the gumline there is a need to use instruments called Curettes. Doing instumentation below the gumline can be painful so yes, there is a need for dental anesthesia. Also, you migh have something called Periodontitis ( can be confirmed with a Panoramic x-ray and by a Periodontist). Periodontitis treatment costs significantly more than treatment for Gingivitis. For Periodontitis cost of treatment will be per segment (6 to 12 teeth at a time). This makes treatment more efficient, so that whoever's treating you will be able to concentrate on cleaning a specific number of teeth.
Yes, the anesthesia is the same for tooth extraction ( which costs P500 to P3000 per tooth), the difference being in extraction it doesn't necessarily mean groups of teeth.
If you do not have your teeth cleaned regularly, you will eventually lose all your teeth.
thanks so much smilewarrior. Okay naman kaso mahal yata maciado, walang discount? hehe What what I want sana are: painless teeth cleaning and pasta, then saka na yung braces and jacket.
^ Fees will depend on what needs to be done. You'd be surprised to know that the fees I mention are what are termed as average price fees. Ibig sabihin nito some clinics here in the Philippines charge more, actually a lot more than the prices I've quoted.
You don't need to suffer. You don't need to live your life with your teeth riddled with tooth decay and gum disease. What you need to do is to start taking care of your teeth.
^ nightlok pwedeng all-porcelain crowns para walang makitang metal, but they are more expensive and are not suitable if the natural teeth are discolored.
Before you have crowns made, have a peri-apical x-ray of the teeth taken.
Have a peri-apical x-ray of the tooth taken and have your dentist evaluate the x-ray.
^ Yes, teeth tend to drift into spaces. There is always a chance that the second molar and the third molar will drift forward. If they do drift forward, they often have a tendency to tilt forward so the teeth are not 90 degrees in orientation and can sometimes be 45 degrees or even less. Minsan halos nakahiga na sila. Besides that, there is also a tendency for the premolars, canine and incisors to drift backward. Eventually there will be gaps between your front teeth. This does not happen overnight, but will eventually happen after a couple of months or years.
Salamat ulit Doc !
^ When it comes to Porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns you get what you pay for. Kung mga P8,000 or more kahit papaano medyo disente naman yung kalalabasan. Less than that, to offset the lower payment a lower quality and heavier metal is often used. It is very uncomfortable for the patient. Bukod diyan, dapat matino yung quality ng metal para hindi mangitim (which means the metal corroded o "nangalawang" inside the mouth).
With regards to Tilite from what I understand the bridge will be lighter in weight if that is used. This is actually a good thing, particularly for patient comfort.
Whether it's Tilite or another metal alloy, what is important is that the teeth to be crowned are examined first for problems. X-rays help a lot, as these will show whether there are hidden problems. The mouth has to be immaculately clean (preferably free of caries and gum disease) before crowns are made.
In case your tooth is not discolored. Kung gusto mong natural looking ay pwedeng All-Porcelain (also known as All-Ceramic) crown. Wala itong bakal sa loob and it is somewhat transluscent. Hindi nga lang sila maganda kung nangitim na yung ipin as the discoloration will show through the crown.
