SARAH G - WHY SO MANY YOUNG MEN LINE UP HER DOOR!

I had the chance to interview Sarah during her press conference for her latest album. ONE HEAR, from Viva Records. She was all smiles and very polite to all the press people despite not having eaten breakfast and lunch. After performing several songs for her guests, she graciously answered all our qestions from the heart, not minding giving a lengthy reply to each and every query. She felt no inconvenience from a ranting tummy, no fuss, no complaints, just simple and humble talk. Here is her story.

It's not just her Filipina beauty that captivates me' neither her success nor her pomp. SARAH GERONIMO is the kind of girl men would be proud to bring home to mom: RESPECTFUL, TALENTED & GROUNDED. She is also one of today's great role model to our youth. If every kid would be as God-fearing as this personality, our country's future will definitely be brighter (Tama!).

I Googled her name and browsed through her many accomplishments: acting and singing are a few things she is known for. She's a natural. She doesn't even have to sacrifice too much to have a great voice. "Actually, yung pagkain po ng chocolates at pag-inom ng malamig wala pong masama, basta not before or after singing. Yung mga extremely hot or cold, 'yun po yung mga bawal.: She is also an award winning actress. She's been in blockbuster movies and long running TV shows.

You can often trace a humble person from her roots. "Ang pamilya namin, simple lang po talaga. Kung ano lang meron dyan, yun yung pinagtitiisan namin. Until eto sobra kaming na-bless ni Lord. Yun siguro yung na-retain namin, yung humility ng pamilya." You wouldn't believe how someone as successful as her could be so down-to-earth. "Marami akong flaws," says Sarah. "Lagi kong iniisip na napakaraming talented sa mundo, mas maraming magagaling na singer at actor kesa sakin."

It's a bonus that this lass is also GOOD LOOKING. The kind of beauty that she has is the kind that grows on you more and more whenever you see her. A generous physique is the only asset a superficially beautiful girl has. Sarah has a lot more to offer: add a hard-working nature, professionalism, and wit to the long list of traits you'd love her for. She maintains her glow by simply staying away from negativity. "Happiness lang talaga, kase pag happy ka sa lahat ng bagay, happy ka dahil buhay ka, buhay ang mahal mo sa buhay, kumakain ka ng tatlong beses sa isang araw...Pag lagi kang naka-smile it brings out that inner glow and positive aura.

Nothing can ruin the spirit of a tue believer like her. Not even a sensationalized heart break. "When the right time comes, sino ba naman ang ayaw magmahal at mahalin. Pinagpe-pray ko naman 'yan...yung sa tamang lalalki."

Her faith is solid. When we asked her what an ideal relationship for her is, Sarah answered with certainty: "A relationship that honors God, honors your family, your parents. Ang true love para sakin is beyond romance at paglalambingan. Yung pagtanggap mo sa isang tao, kahit nakikita mo lang siya or nakakausap mo siya, masaya ka na, kumpleto ka na. Di kailangang maging intimate kayo para masabing mahal niyo ang isa't-isa."

SARAH GERONIMO is the kind of celebrity kids should look up to. Her values are intact and her heart is in the right place. Family is always on top of her list: " Napakayaman ko po sa mga kaibigan, mga fans at lalong lalo na dahil sa pamilya ko. Kase po sa mga naranasan kong problema, ang pamilya pa rin ang una mong malalapitan." Sarah recalls that she didn't know it would be this hard to be in showbiz because of the image you have to maintain. "Mahirap kase hindi ko naman ito pinili. Nung pumasok ako ng showbiz ang gusto ko lang naman kumanta at umarte. Di ko alam na magiging role model ka. Mahirap para sakin pero yung pagpapalaki naman ng mga magulang ko sa kin maayos naman po...of course may mga pagkakamali rin po dahil tao rin naman tayo. Kaya sobra akong grateful dahil nandyan ang parehong magulang ko para gabayan ako."

Learning stops when someone starts believing in himself too much. We're lucky that this POP PRINCESS of ours is nothing like that Queue asked her how she sees herself a few years from now, and she said, "An improved artist, Yun kase talaga ang first love ko, singing and music. Gusto ko talaga ma-master itong field na napili ko."

She seeks to continually grow in all fields of her life especially in handling relationships. "Personally, alam ko pong ang dami ko pang dapat matutunan bilang girlfriend o future wife. 23 pa lang ako, marami pa akong dapat i-improve sa sarili ko...sa maturity ko."

When asked what other things she would like to accomplish, Sarah stared at a blank corner for a good ten seconds and replied, "Gusto ko makapagsulat ng sarili kong praise songs, love songs for God. Gusto ko sanang ma-encourage mga OPM artists na mag give back naman kay Lord." That was a reply and an inspiration that was profound for her young age.

Many 23 year-olds have their noses in the air, walking like ramps models in malls, but Sarah chooses to be different. She chooses to be kind and simple. A girl like Sarah is a rare commodity.
