Confessions is a kicka*s film! Definitely one of the best films for 2010 (definitely better than the eventual winner of the Oscar 2011 best foreign film).

I am not crazy about All About Lily Chou-Chou. Personally, it is an irony in itself. It carries a profound and powerful message delivered in a very complicated manner, effecting the intended message weak and impotent. I endured two sessions with AALCC and still, I can not produce the appreciation it begs by its complexity.

I see a lot of people express their likeness for AALCC that propelled a recommendation. Maybe some of our readers here in PEx would find it interesting and excellent. Perhaps, it is not my "cup of tea," so they say. Nonetheless, it is at best, tolerable. Otherwise, I could not have gone two intimate sessions with AALCC in an attempt to unravel the mysteries and complexities for me to appreciate its value.

In comparison, I am in favor for In A Better World than AALCC.

On another note, I am surprised that you have not seen Spirited Away (Sen To Chihiro No Kamikakushi), which is the most prized work of Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli. I marveled at the power of storytelling and animation with Spirited Away. A Blu-ray copy would prove divine.

for some silly reason i saw "Flower and Snake 3". na-download ko without realizing earlier that it didn't have English subs (nor srt files accompanying it) but still i watched it. gets ko naman ang story despite absence of subs

Sword Of The Stranger is proud of a unique and compelling premise. I like it. Not as grand and magical as Studio Ghibli works, Sword Of The Stranger is an excellent Japanese animation subscribed in a different kind of genre strictly for mature audiences only.

Last night, I watched Seven Samurai by Akira Kurosawa. wow, that movie is just awesome.

my favorite japanese movie. it's hard to imagine a better adaptation of the novel. i'm just a little bit surprised that they only played one Beatles song in the movie.

if you're into existentialism, new wave, kafkaesque type of movie, try hiroshi teshigahara. i recommend:
