    InterAKTV - New Sports Website

What can you say about this relatively new sports website, which is under TV5 of MVP?

Do they cover the sports news very well?

  2. #2
    Bias.

    Hahaha.

They labeled the Petron Blaze Boosters - Barako Bull Trade Lopsided.

So I commented and asked the writers if they think that the Meralco - Powerade - Talk N Text Trade was fair enough?

    What they did?

They deleted my comment and blocked me.

Pero overall, okay naman, mabilis sa update.

parang blog site ang dating. well, siguro because of their managing director na si Jaemark (Firequinito) kaya siguro ganun.

and sometimes, kahit hindi naman ganun kalaki yung story ginagawan agad ng article. parang ang nangyayari is, may lumabas lang na news sa PBA or other sports e', aligaga agad to write a story. unlike other sports news na pwedeng isingit lang sa main story nila for the day of that particular sports.

anyways, Rey Joble (former GMA sport news) is one of their writers.

Panigurado blocked kayo. Hindi nga niya mabanggit na na-robbed ang Shopinas dahil aasa asa si Franz Pumaren na makakapagrebuild siya by using the 5th pick in the draft. Means internal tong naging deal. Under the table kumbaga.

hmm. you think ka-level nya yung Petron/Barako trade kahapon? RT @smbpet missing yung questionable 3way deal ng TNT/Meralco/Powerade.

    smbpet smbpet
    @
@FireQuinito Did you state the complete trade for the Pet/BB deal? It looks deceiving kung hindi kumpleto? At least the other trade merits..

    smbpet smbpet
    @
@FireQuinito Atleast the other trade should merit ur attention. Hw many times Pow releases players to Bolts...ren2,macapagal,lanete

    smbpet smbpet
    @
@FireQuinito New strat? release for FREE. macapagal originally release lang yan. Sinama lang sa trade para maka 3way to give Bolts a pick

    smbpet smbpet
    @
@FireQuinito I follow u coz bilib ako sayo. now, dapat naman fair ka rin kahit against ur Boss. Media ka e. Walang kinikilingan, True lang

@smbpet if you really think ka-level ni macapagal/ritualo/lanete si dondon hontiveros at chris lutz... i don't know what to tell you.

    @
How abt + 2014 1st rounder & 2 second rounder + #8 2011 + Mick?

    FireQuinito Fire Quinito
    @
@smbpet still an iffy deal, in my opinion. we can agree to disagree.

    smbpet smbpet
@FireQuinito My point is, alam mo naman arrangements din ng MVP at Pow sa pag release ng Pow players after ma thumbs down yung una diba?

@smbpet the thing is... sa totoo lang? di naman kawalan sa powerade yung nawala sa kanila si renren/macapagal/lanete eh.

@smbpet i.e. powerade released renren. he was picked up by meralco. now meralco let him go. ibig sabihin, wala na masyadong value.

@FireQuinito DH played for 0-9 Air21, what transformation? & Lutz? It remains to be seen. Walang kawalan sa Pow, Right!

Anyway, re the website, okay naman, mabilis nga yung updates. For future stories though, it remains to be seen if fair nga sila especially if it involves the boss's shady deals.

  11. #11
Among those invited those invited by COACH FRANZ PUMAREN are MARK ANDAYA, RENREN RITUALO, BAMBAM GAMALINDA, DENNIS DAA and GIO CIRIACRUZ
At fair deal daw yan according to Firequinito. Hirap talaga kalabanin boss mo noh? Tatahimik ka na lang hahaha.

  12. #12

I think most of its articles are rather more editorial than news. And I agree with Dackson Dominions observations, ganun nga ang InterAktv. I hope they will improve the website (contents) since TV5 na ang Media Partner ng PBA.

I read firequinito blog (more often before compared to the times I am visiting the InterAktv) madami siyang okay na blogs sa firequinito but IMO madami din siyang unfair/unbalance commentaries (thru his blogs) like yung kay "Jwash being a p*u*s*s*y" and the "Wacky Trade" at obvious na may biases din particularly with his favorite team Purefoods.

Kaya I wonder what it would be kung magkaroon ng lopsided trade between Purefoods and TNT (in favor to only one of the two) makakaya niya kayang maging patas o magpakatotoo?

I like InterAKTV. I think it's one of the best things to come out in local sports this year. It gives us a different and fresh perspective of the news - something that cannot be seen on other sports news websites like GMANews.TV or ABS-CBNnews.

The mere fact that they have different pages for different sports is already a huge indication that this sports website is legitimate and intends to be content-heavy. And true enough, reading their basketball page has been very informative and incisive. They came out with an exclusive on Fred Uytengsu's thoughts a few days ago that triggered so much controversy and stirred a hornet's nest. The site has done a lot of "agitation" but because of this, it has also awakened the higher-ups in doing something positive for the league.

When you have articles on Tim Cone or the other PBA coaches expressing their thoughts on the release of Cone from Alaska, then you know these guys work hard. You don't get to read an article everyday featuring 4 or 5 resource people being interviewed. That's what you call incisive reporting. When you have a Yeng Guiao hoping that Cone won't be back in the immediate future, that's how candid an interview that was. It wasn't done in the negative sense - it was actually Guiao's small tribute and accolade to Cone's coaching brilliance.

As for Jaemark, he may create a lot of critics with his in-your-face approach to opinion-making but when was the last time we had someone like him who'll tell a spade a spade in local sports? Last I recall, it was Fred Luarca, one, if not, the best sports columnist in Philippine basketball history - and most people here in PEX weren't even born when Luarca was already trailblazing his opinions.

I like Jaemark - of course, I'm biased because he is a friend. But he didn't become a friend out of accident. He became one because I'm an admirer and a follower of his blogs. Which means that previous to us being friends, I was already looking forward to his blogs. And to compare him with Snow Badua is definitely baseless that has no leg to stand on. Badua is a broadcaster who can't write. I've no opinion on the guy because he doesn't deserve it. Jaemark is a fantastic writer, regardless of which side he's on. He's our local version of Bill Simmons of ESPN, and his irreverent and humorous approach to writing is unparalleled. There are times I wish I could write like him but I know my limits. At such a young age, Jaemark's future is secured.

As for the website being partial or one-sided to TNT or Meralco, I didn't see that. When TNT lost to Petron in the recent Governor's Cup Finals, there was extensive feature on the Blaze Boosters' victory. When Tim Cone was released by Alaska, no other website gave much importance to Cone's departure than InterAKTV. And when JV Casio nearly didn't sign with Powerade because he was one year short of the guaranteed contract, no other website gave it much attention than InterAKTV. So I can't really see where the so-called 'bias' on MVP teams are. Besides, Jaemark's an unabashed and self-admitted Purefoods fan so you would actually think that this site would favor the Llamados. Yet, the only article that may betray such was the feature on Alvin Patrimonio.

Finally, you can't see any other website that pays as much attention to the PBA and the SMART-Gilas national team. That's the entire beauty of this site. ABS features the national team once in a while but hardly gives space for the PBA. GMANews provides some for the PBA but not as extensive when Rey Joble left the network. Their sports page leaves a lot to be desired especially after Joble shipped out. It's not as informative as it was in the past.

If purists would want to see the site to be purely news-oriented, then I would understand if they'd react negatively. But InterAKTV has done a sensational job in combining news and opinion without tainting it with bias. Perhaps, it's the look that makes it appear to be like a blog. But I'm the type of person who looks more into the content - the substance - rather than the layout - the form. And reading them has been an everyday delight for me from the time they debuted a couple of months ago...

should someone post a negative comment on jaemark's twitter account, and actually has substantial arguments and manages to contest what he says, his favorite line is... "and yet you still follow me?"..

its not a matter of why people follow him, it's expressing one's opinion regardless if it coincides with his or not. after all this is interactive media.

also noticed that when firequinito (jaemark) has become friends with those he has written or will write about, he "softens" the blows. if at all hits them like he used to.

thats why he isnt as controversial, unbiased to read as he was before he took MVP's offer.

its not that he doesnt put up the good articles..he has plenty.
His APPROACH isnt the same. he himself says he hasnt sold out but there is change to his writing/tweeting style.
i have yet to see him go at individuals- ryan gregorio like he used to or comment on chot reyes (in any negative light) etc.. guys under the MVP umbrella. this new job has made him more accessible to the people he used to comment about. now that he
"knows" them, hardly does he go on the offensive anymore.

IMO the "old" jaemark was entertaining to read because it seemed like he feared no one. Now he's more informative than opinionated and it seems to some people including myself that there are the chosen few who are spared.

It comes with the territory in that sense. And it has nothing to do with association. It simply because he's involved with a news network which is required for him to be more informative than opinionated. If people will describe it as a sell-out, I won't blame them. They'd seen in the past how Jaemark can speak out with an acerbic tongue and how they'd love (or loath) him for it.

Which is why I measure InterAKTV not so much for the opinion, simply because it's not a blog page, but for the content - the news and the information. And I can't find any other local sports website that can provide as rich and in-depth information as InterAKTV. Perhaps my only frustration with them now is that they have zero coverage of the recently concluded World Pool Masters or the ongoing World Cup of Pool. When Joble was still with GMA News, this was given coverage as Joble was there at the pool venue daily.

Notice also that even his favorite target - Noli Eala - hasn't really been given much attention by Jaemark. This is normal of course - he's part of mainstream journalism and he's the head of the sports page of InterAKTV, the website of a major network. So to be at loggerheads with Eala (who's associated with corporate rival SMC) may not exactly reflect a certain degree of credibility for someone churning out the news.

I can't wait though for him to reactivate his blog...I'd be expecting nothing less. Otherwise, I'll give credit where credit is due - and that is, InterAKTV is definitely the best local sports news website you can ever have today...
