Rachelle Ann Go is truly UNBREAKABLE

Ultimate Champion Rachelle Ann Go released her latest album, Unbreakable, under Viva Records. The term unbreakable perfectly describes Rachelle Ann Go. Despite all the controversies, and heartbreaks, she has managed to move on and stand as a strong woman. In fact, she’s becoming more beautiful each day.

The album title “Unbreakable” coincides with one of the songs in her album. “Tinatanong ako ng mga tao… unbreakable ka ba dahil sa mga pinagdadaanan mo, sa sakit sa puso? Sabi ko, wala naman akong sakit sa puso, ang saya-saya ko eh. Sabi ko, dahil meron akong isang song na kasama dito sa album, ang title niya ay Unbreakable.”

Last Saturday, Rachelle shared what’s inside her heart to all the people in Eastwood City. “Gusto ko pong i-share sa inyo ang laman ng aking puso.” Rachelle sang songs from her latest album namely, “Whoa-Man, Unbreakable, Lihim, Sa Aking Puso, Part of Your World, Whispered Fear, and Masasabi Mo Ba.” The Ultimate Champion shared the stage with rapper and composer Artstrong and the Adlib Dance Crew on her performance of Whoa-Man.

Rachelle really prepared for this album for it was nine months in- the-making. “Matagal ko pong ginawa tong album na ‘to. I have been recording since last year, last November. At sa wakas ay na-release.” She’s über proud of her album because her songs were written by excellent composers like Mr. Vehnee Saturno. “Magaganda po yung mga kanta dahil magagaling ang mga composers.”

But this time, Rachelle shows her versatility as a singer. Her latest album is composed of different music genre. “Kumbaga sa pagkain, chopseuy. Iba’t ibang pagkain, iba’t ibang klaseng gulay. Halo-halo. May mga alternative, may ballad, RNB, lahat na po… Kaya matagal ko pong ni-record ‘to dahil lahat ng klase ng music.”

Above all, Rachelle never fails to praise and thank the Lord for all her blessings. Thus, Rachelle shares one of her best compositions entitled, Whispered Fear. Rachelle describes this song as a “Love song kay Lord.” The challenges, mistakes, and fears she had are Rachelle’s inspiration in creating this beautiful masterpiece. “Andami kong na-realize, mga pinagdaanan sa buhay, mga pagkakamali. Hindi naman ako perpekto. Mga mistakes ko sa buhay. Ang daming kong takot na naramdaman sa puso ko. At itong kanta na ‘to, inaalay ko sa iisa lamang, kay God. Nung sinulat ko ‘to sabi ko, andiyan yung pamilya natin, mga kaibigan natin siyempre, pero iisa lang ang dapat nating kapitan kapag may pinagdadaanan tayo sa buhay, si God yun.”

Indeed, Rachelle is a woman of strong faith. It's what keeps her grounded and blessed. That’s why she deserves to be called the “Ultimate Champion!”

“Don’t Tie Me Down” – Kyla sings of determination without taking the fun out of it

After giving us a ballad with a throwback vibe in the form of Mahal Kita (Di Mo Pansin), Kyla steps up the beat with a new music video Don’t Tie Me Down, her second single from her album Private Affair. Kyla co-produced and co-wrote the song with her good friends, Jay-R, Billy Crawford, Kris Lawrence, and Jimmy Muna. And they seemed to have so much fun doing it that I can almost hear them having a good time in the background.

The song actually appears twice in the album with the second one being a house mix. The music video seem to have used a shortened version of the house mix. The song is a song about self-liberation, singing away the negativity from people who want to hold you down. Don’t Tie Me Down is certainly catchy and oozes with a determination with a fun club-ready beat. Going for your dreams does not mean you have to take the fun out of it. And that’s exactly how the song sounds to me.

Watching the music video directed by Nani Naguit, we see Kyla smiling a lot. Her smile, just like the song, radiates from somewhere inside. If I may say so, that sort of smile can only come from someone who is genuinely in love with music. It doesn’t take a full grasp of music theory or some other academic perspective of music to enjoy music. Just let Don’t Tie Me Down come into your ears and let it take over you. Just like being at sea with friends, surrender yourself to the music just as you would to the wind and the good times.

R&B Princess Kyla releases the 3rd single "Keep The Faith" from her 8th studio album "Private Affair"

R&B Princess Kyla's 2011 has been phenomenally eventful to say the least and the year isn’t even over.

Having her 8th studio album "Private Affair" and 1st single "Mahal Kita (Di Mo Pansin)" close out 2010 with a bang, the album's charms hasn't waned one bit with 2nd single "Don't Tie Me Down" also dominating the radio waves, hit charts and music video channels of the 1st half of 2011 - and she might still be just warming up as Kyla winds up again to launch her 3rd single "KEEP THE FAITH".

“With this album, I was given the opportunity to record new and original compositions again, giving chances to new and brilliant songwriters." and that she and Polyeast records did as she collaborated with Awit Award-winning composer and lyricist Moby Aragones and award-winning songwriter/arranger/producer Jimmy Antiporda for "Keep The Faith".

In fact, "Keep The Faith" was the first song that made it to “Private Affair” in it’s song gathering stages and was also the first to be recorded. “Ang ganda ng melody ng chorus, the message and the lyrics has a sad vibe to it but it had a good and hopeful resolve. Truly one of my faves from this album” Kyla shared.

"And tonight, when I dream
Of the love I really never had
I can't try to deny
That I'm really, really just plain sad
And to say that today
That I'm taking things as they may
And tell myself to just, keep the faith alive"

The song's bittersweet lyrics, groovy tune and Kyla's soulful interpretation were the perfect ingredients for this melodic ballad in which the R&B Princess has always been known for - and just like that, another hit song is as good as instant.

"Keep The Faith" is already enjoying massive airplay on radio because of phone and text requests from her die-hard fans. Kyla’s online community also tipped the song as one of their favourites. They are as of the moment getting ready to vote for the song and rally behind their idol on all the music charts as soon as the official word of her “3rd single” gets out.

Mid this year, Kyla earned a handful of nominations for the 24th Awit Awards:

• Best Performance by a Female Recording Artist for "Mahal Kita (Di Mo Pansin)"
• Best R&B for "Mahal Kita (Di Mo Pansin)"
• Best Dance Recording for "Don’t Tie Me Down"

Kyla is also gearing up for the Asian release of PRIVATE AFFAIR in which she is ecstatically excited about. She recorded her signature song "Hanggang Ngayon" in Bahasa along with the song "Inda Cinta Kinta", a duet with Indonesian artist Joenir Arif.
