Truly the first step to finding a solution to a problem is realizing that the problem exist. Happy that you have recognized that times are hard. I have the feeling that your young mind will find creative ways to defeat the scourge of poverty and find a lucid direction towards conquering hardships and defeat. Keep on! Good luck.

Reading through the article I couldn't shake the feeling of discomfort and frustration. Discomfort with the fact that many of us Filipinos wish for better lives seen from a distant. It appears as though God has played favorites and poured more honey in some countires like America. Frustrated that this feeling is reasonable considering that chances for a well paid job that compensates us based on performance is not in the Philippines work environment dictionary. These claims may have merits but I also am inclined to believe that patience and focused actions towarnds anything one wants will certainly make things more easy. True that many US employers are open for sponsorship. The bottomline still remain, the applicant must be equipped with skills, ready and willing to face the challenges that lies ahead..... from fiinding a sponsor, going through the application process and finally fitting in the new environment.

What about countries like Japan and Singapore that aren't "blessed" with rich resources? What made them rich is their PEOPLE. We can do the same thing but most Pinoys are brainwashed to thinking they can't do it...

I agree to what you said that if one is successful here, one does not need to go abroad. But we can not stop Filipino mentality that
there is always more money outside of the country.

Is anyone else TROUBLED and DISTURBED by the fact that there are SO many pinoys in this thread trying to DISCOURAGE their countrymen from migrating to the USA?

When moving to another country there are many legal procedures you have to go through. This can be very daunting, especially when you don’t speak the language. I can understand why they use the term ‘alien’, because you can certainly feel like one. Being questioned about your details and intentions over and over can be emotionally and morally exhausting especially when there is no guarantee that your permit will be granted.

Is there an online list of these sponsors?
