May mistake ako dyan, I'm referring sa GET THAT BALL CHEER.

The only "defense" chant/cheer I remember are these three:

UST - Oh! Depensa! (with hand gestures)
ADMU - Get that ball! (with hand gestures)
UP - UP! Defense! (with hand gestures)

I 'm not sure with other schools particularly with DLSU. Kasi all I remember from them is that classic defense cheer heard from an NBA/PBA game...

Shoot that ball is also one of Ateneo's cheers back then especially during Senator Gordon's time.

when they entered uaap after afaik 5-6 years (ncaa -> uaap because of letran- la salle incident) of no basketball they changed the way they used to cheer (traditional rektikano, singing victory songs) and to adapt to the more productive style of cheering (from LSC to DLSU and less-to-memorize cheers like go la salle and dlsu animo la salle).

ateneo also has their own "defense" cheer but not used as often as get that ball because the latter is a more known cheer for the blues.

their offense has always been "FIGHT", nothing else.

although that "red tribe" wanted changes for their cheering system, hindi maitatanggi na nanggaya sila and changes must be done. kudos for their efforts and sana naman other squads could also do it asap (yes, hindi lang po sila ang nangopya)

    ateneo cheering started 1920
    la salle cheering started 1926

almost 7 decades ahead before any cheering squad started to be formally recognized and/or organized (feu,up,ust,nu,ue,adu)

mga walang cheering history huwag kayong magmarunong, napaghahalataan kayo eh
    Beats ang tinutukoy ko.

ateneo was using get that ball since i can remember. during the 2002 gec chia shot game against ue, you can clearly hear ateneo crowd cheering "get that ball" while ue was cheering "defense".

further, i distinctly heard san beda's indian chant song (the melody) being used by ue this season.

Get That Ball was even used by Crispa-Toyota eh. Well at least nag-eefort ang UE puksain ang piracy! Goodjob!

    La Salle- Animo La Salle

    UP- Shoot that Ball

you must've not heard of their other beats... kung cheer din lang ng UP, I go for Unibersdad ng Pilipinas.

and here is the "Go Uste!":
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z9p5F...eature=related

    "Go/ue/war/riors" and the "go/us/te"

Magiiba ng tempo at a tono yun sigurado.

(not sure)

staple cheers are always the best. I would also go for Unibersidad for UP coupled with their unique way of spelling (Pagbabaybay if I remember it correctly)

Chant ang One Big Fight!, and then maya maya, lalagyan ng drums. Since forever yan.

Iba itong chant na 'to sa Go Ateneo! One Big Fight! Usually kasi yung original chant na OBF ginamait 'pag may sapakan, dayaan ng ref, awkward silence, etc. Most effective for me.
