People who think removing the offside rule will increase scoring don't watch enough football. Managers aren't stupid, if you remove the offside rule they'll park the bus every game and you'll see even less goals. The offside allows defenses to push up (see Barca) and gives strikers space to go one-on-one with the keeper.

Since this is supposed to be the learning thread I think I should explain my Pippo joke. Pippo Inzaghi is a known goal poacher- a player who scores a lot of goals by always being in the right place in the right time. So he's usually at the shoulder of the last defender always looking to break the offside trap. So he scores a lot of goals that the opposing teams will claim is offside. Hence Pippo doesn't understand the offside law.

Removing the offside rule will not make it more exciting. It will make the game even more "boring" to those who consider it as boring. Defenders will then park the bus all day long, resulting in fewer goals.

Pippo is an ace. Will do f*ck all in build-ups and general play, but BANG! he pops in and grabs a goal.

liverpool -nung pa si owen; counter attacking football yun... strong def and long balls to owen; or they play it through gerard first...

real madrid -nung andun pa si roberto carlos; wing play yun... wing backs surge forward to support the attack... but leaves em vulnerable to counters...

barcelona -this is how they always play... possession football... pag kanila yung bola hirap nang kunin... and if they do concede the ball; theyll try hard to win it back... the down side though is theyll get tired easier...

kaya dapat check yung formation e... 442= flexible but too predictable; 433=forwards help out at midfield; 451; crowd the midfield but harder to score; 541=dont even go here... its difficult to win with this one...
