Nagstart akong manood ng Football noong pinalabas ng Studio 23 yung World Cup. That time wala akong idea kung sino yung mga nangunguna. Naging favorite team ko pa that time yung Spanish team.
At first, I find it boring, naiinis nga ako before kapag nanonood ang mga boys sa futbol channels...but, thanks to the Azkals...i started following the sport. You might say, ah this is just another fangirl...yeah, nung umpisa i thought these guys are indeed have the looks , but at the end of the day, it's still substance over form...and, thanks sa thread na ito...ang dami ko natutunan about futbol...kaya, thanks guys for sharing your knowledge about the sport.
We’ve learned our lessons – Palami

MANILA, Philippines — Sticking to the game plan will be crucial if the Philippine football team wishes to overcome Kuwait’s overwhelming lead when they clash in the second leg of their second round World Cup qualifying series Thursday, team manager Dan Palami said Tuesday.
Palami admitted that the Azkals’ 0-3 defeat in the opening leg on Saturday was caused largely by their failure to follow their war plan to the latter.
The Azkals are looking to rebound against Kuwait in their rematch at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium, and Palami said he’ll make sure the team will not fall to the same mistake again.
“If we stick to the game plan, I think we will have a chance,” Palami said during Tuesday’s PSA Forum at Shakey’s UN Ave. branch.
The Azkals deviated from their original defense-oriented strategy in the second half of the opening game – a lapse that contributed to their downfall according to Palami.
“We were able to control them (Kuwait) in defense and they could not get through in the first half. But because we had a great first half, the players felt they can go forward altogether in the second half. We became adventurous. If you noticed, our 4-5-1 formation became 4-3-3,” Palami said. “I think that’s what killed us.”
Kickoff is set at 7 p.m. with the Azkals needing to win by four goals or more to advance to the third round of the qualifier for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
A 3-0 win by the Azkals will force an extra time.
Azkals German coach Michael Weiss said Monday that the urgency to score more goals in the second leg may force him to change the strategy although emphasis will still be on defense.
“We will loosen up a bit in defense, press early and look for an early goal just like against Sri Lanka,” Weiss said. “But it’s risky.”
The task appears daunting, but Palami remains optimistic especially with the return of skippers Aly Borromeo and Stephan Schrock, who will hold the forth in the midfield. Both players are coming off one-game suspensions after getting two yellow cards against Sri Lanka in the first round.

Match referee will decide it but 'extreme weather conditions' is a basis.

^As a rule there will still be a kick off but it is up to the referees to see if the pitch is playable.
congrats sa new thread!

shorck arrives / azkals train under rain - bandila tonight
isn't favorable for us if we play when there's a weather disturbance?
That's what everyone is wishing. To rain on Thursday but not too hard.
Pangilinan said another possibility is to bring over the Real Madrid football and basketball teams for a tour. MVP Sports Foundation executive director and Talk ‘N’ Text coach Chot Reyes said the Ultimate All-Star Weekend has put the Philippines on the map as a sports tourism destination.
Nako MVP, the best ka.
omg! real madrid?! ang mahal ng magagastos dyan.omg again if that will happen
next thing we know, SMART Rizal Memorial Stadium is already under construction.
