I saw the movie and I liked it.

I also saw the book at Barnes & Noble. I bought. Kind of hard to read because it was written a long time ago. The English language has changed a lot since then.

I never had a problem with seeing a film in 3D until this. The bright landscapes of John Carter is just not meant to be seen behind dimmed 3D glasses. I have planned to see the film in 2D though but I was misinformed and I end up watching the film in 3D twice when the theater's supposed to play it in 2D. But the structure of the plot is what space epics are supposed to be, so I don't believe that the film's as bad as the reviews I've read is making it out to be. I'm giving John Carter a third chance when it hits DVD/BR.

I came in with low expectations actually after all the things that have been said and I guess it helped because I was pleasantly entertained by this film. The "Virginia!" moments were funny. The princess is hot and may kamukha syang local celebrity Love the visuals, watched it in 2D only though.

The first part of the story was a little boring and I actually didn't fully understand what was going on until the Barsoom scenes and I love the way it ended, it's obviously setting up sequel. Too bad it likely won't happen at all given the disappointing box office. It has pacing issues but overall it was a good film

this movie was better than I expected.
