Why are DSLRs and video cameras not allowed in UAAP?

I have a Olympus PEN Camera, not a traditional DSLR, but with a protruding 14-42mm lens, will I be able sneak it in?

Olympus EPL1. Well, I initially planned of wrapping it with clothes and using a gym bag. But brought my camera bag instead on the last minute and placed my camera like a normal shoot. And what a big sigh of relief when the guard let me in with no sign of second thoughts.

Parang movie theatre na bawal ang video camera pero meron pa ring nakakapasok. As can be seen by live streaming sites and youtube videos shortly after the game. Mag-search na lang kayo sa internet. Ayaw kong maglista since it's piracy and I see some threads being closed for this reason.

Yung Pacquiao fights since 2007 sa youtube ko lahat napanuod since I'm working abroad. After a few days they are taken down due to copyright infringement dahil pay-per-view dapat.

In my case, with a 200mm telephoto lens and a flash, detach lens from camera. Likewise, detach the flash from the camera. Put the lens, the camera, and the flash in different bags discretely

Having a companion (with extra bag) will help

I'm not really certain but many times i was able to bring my dslr inside araneta...i even took pictures knowing that i am just sitting in the patron

Araneta Coliseum is strict about this one. You can only bring your professional imaging or video equipment unless you have a PRESS ID. I also notice that if you're sitting nearer, they're more stricter when it comes to checking your baggage. If you're sitting on Upper Box or GenAd, they won't even bother to reprimand you bringing your camera.

Unless you're a girl (or you're with a girl) and you've got a bag which can hide your camera, you can get past the security. I saw ex-players, ex-officials or their relatives who are also exempted from the rule.

I heard MOA Arena is following the same procedure.

This is actually true. Not just in these kinds of venues, even in other buildings. That's the sad thing about our country. It's already 2012 and everybody is entitled to the same rights but double standards still prevail.
