lose the wheat bread and eat 3 whole eggs instead of only whites.. most of the protein is in the yolk.

other than that, so-so protein, okay amount of carbs.
I did not really count your calories but you will definitely lose weight on this diet @190lbs..

nope, the yolk is mostly cholesterol, I eat 2 whole and 2 egg whites a day

  3. #83
^Wrong sir, a lot of the protein are in the yolk and most of it's nutrients are also in there.

the bad cholesterol myth is very outdated, I did not expect that some people still believe it.

if you do not believe me, please google search and type in ''egg yolk myth''

it's always good to learn something new every day, right?

Again, dietary fat is different from body fat. In the same vein, dietary cholesterol is different from body cholesterol. Your body is not a plumbing system in a sense that what you eat in gets stuck in your body organs. Food is converted into energy. For example, fat will not become body fat. It will be burned by the body to be used as energy. Kaya tumataba ang isang tao eh simpleng thermodynamics lang (calories in less calories out = positive/surplus). At pag tumataba ka, dun na nag-iiba ang state ng katawan. Dyan na pumapasok yung issues ng insulin/insulin sensitivity, glucogen, lipolysis, leptin, etc.

Thanks for the reply. I'm at 4 eggs a day now (2 whole and 2 white), I will add one egg per week until I reach 6.

So-so protein. Would it be okay to eat more servings of lets say, fish and chicken? Or should I get it from other sources?

  8. #87
    which other sources?
    ok naman na ang fish/chicken

I bought whey protein today. But it doesn't contain any scoop. Should I be bothered? Anyway, how many spoons are there in a scoop?

Usually you'd have to dig dipper into the container to find the scoop.

I don't know if a scoop varies from one brand to another. But the whey protein brand I use has a 70-cc scoop which equates to 4-5 tablespoons*.

    * not the silverware tablespoon

tanong lang, is whey protein safe? or are there brands which are unsafe to drink?

Nakakapag taka lang, I saw this guy in the gym drinking whey protein didn't know what brand it was. a little later, I went inside the CR to take a leak. I heard someone inside a cubicle vomiting. when the person got out, that was the guy drinking the whey.
Is this normal or baka sa sobrang pagod lang siguro? I was planning to include whey in my post workout meal but after this scenario, nag dadalawang isip na ako.

^whey is just processed protein, sir.

yes, it is a processed food

Is it really effective na magpataba muna if 'payat' and then go to gym kesa nagstart ng payat then gym agad? Hmm

  18. #97
^ You want to build muscle, not fat, so it defeats the purpose if magpapataba ka muna...

btw, very informative thread. thanks TS

my goal is to bulk more. part of my diet is a sandwich every day. my sandwich contains approximately 200g of deli meat (roast beef or roast smoked chicken/turkey)

now my question is, since we all know deli meat are processed meats, is it doing more harm than good to me?

i'm trying to reach a 1.5g of protein for every lbs of body weight and i'm doing the SS program.

    from nutritiondata:

per 100 calories of roast beef deli
    calories: 193g
    protein: 33g
    fat: 5g
    cholesterol: 88mg
    sodium: 404mg

i'm at 145lbs currently, so if i follow the 1.5g per lbs of BW, i need at least 217.5g of protein everyday. so my daily sandwich already provides 66g of my protein requirement. the rest i get from my other meals of the day (breakfast - eggs, lunch & dinner - chicken/fish/beef, dinner, and some protein shake on the side)

    any notes on this one?

^It's absolutely fine. Just look at the macro's on that meal alone! Especially at your weight right now I wouldn't worry too much although 1g of protein/lb is already fine.

Just increase your wanter intake to flush the sodium.
