    ====================

    From inbound:

    The league’s newest squad is coming off two straight unbeaten campaigns in the ISAA, where the likes of La Consolacion and FEATI came closest to a semblance of competition. The Pirates do have a bit of big game experience in their résumé as they’ve qualified for the past five Philippine Collegiate Champions League Sweet 16s....
    =========
    On NCAA :

    They recently beat the Lastimosa-less CSb on their first game..
    75-63 in Season 87 action last July 4 at the Arena in San Juan City...Allan Santos led the LPU on their first win....
    =========

    Other Notes:
    from Ciao Bedans ( via inbound )
    ==
    Do you know…Gian Mallari is former member of mendiola based, great shooter, played with Borgie Hermida of
    San Beda Red Cubs Champion Team under Coach Ato Badulato !! I am sure he is a great addition to LPU Basketeers !
    We hope to see him at the hardcourt very soon –Coach Boni??

    imagine a role player and reject from the falcons posting monster numbers in the ncaa? if my memory serves me right this guy didn't even average close to a third of what he is averaging now during his forgettable stint in the uaap.

    wasn't he even the laughing stock of the falcons together with the legendary marvin polayapoy back then?
    Good for him.. Players like him just need that break.. Let's be happy for him and those kind of athletes..

    Like what RedRidingDragon said, he just needed a break. It's not as if he played in both leagues in the same year. He had at least a few months to develop and being the star of a team can help you do that.

    Melo regularly scored 20 points in the D-League but he wasn't able to do that in the NCAA in the past years. Does that mean the D-League is inferior to the NCAA? No, it just so happened that Melo improved a lot in a few months.

    Let's take Chris Camus for example. He wasn't even good enough to break the team A of SBC and yet, he's posting monster numbers in the UAAP even as an undersized 4/5.

    Both of them just got breaks in a different team that's perfect for their skill set.

    " reject "? ..and good may not be good enough for Adamson.

    Greatness is demanded, as well as dominance...I can only say

    Adamson's loss is LPU's gain....and for Allan Santos day of

    reckoning somehow becomes his day of redemption...THERE IS

    NO SUCH THING AS " REJECT" IN BASKETBALL. There are things

    beyond our knowledge why he was left out of Adamson's roster

    and leave it as that...and we should not come into a conclusion to

    measure the inferiority of one league to another...When one

    player transferred to another team or league, we can only wish him well

    and the very best !!....

    And who is laughing now???...i can see Allan is..
