Can PR do MNL-JFK-MNL using a 77W without weight restrictions? I think they will need the 777-200LR for this sector to be able to fly it year-round without restrictions.

I was just thinking if we do have any 5th freedom from any S. American cities? and does anybody know our ASA with South American countries?

thank you so much. hopefully, the rest will have the new IFE by the time we travel. Hate to be in a long flight with a bored toddler.

Part of the plan is to fly non-stop to New York from Manila within the next three months.
How is this possible? 77W & 744 are both out of range. Only 788, 77L, or A345 can do this.

    Last flight of SIA's 747, SQ748

I hope PAL would have the same thing when they retire their last 747-400. PAL has been a long customer of the 747, and it seems like they will be replacing them with 77Ws.

The 747 will always be the queen of the skies!

I don't think it will be profitable but PAL can wet-lease TG or SQ A345s just to keep the ball rolling. At least it will give credibility to RSA's announcements.

Its nice to read the pronouncements of RSA. Sino ba ang ayaw. But with our aviation status and all other factors, parang . . . well, let us wait and see. Maybe, RSA has cards which he is keeping very close to his chest. All for the betterment of PAL.

its sad that China Southern is reducing its flights to MNL from 2x to 1 daily till June 30 due to territory dispute.

I read somewhere that RSA is doing "something" about that category 2 status and EU ban.

BTW, who knows the delivery date of RP-C7775?

What if PAL will create an airline based in USA to fly in the Philippines like what Virgin is doing.

Virgin America or PAL America LOL and it won't be a subject for CAT 2 haha

  15. #1915
Nah, I dont think PAL America would sound good. I guess focusing their purchases on Boeing widebodies would be better and may indirectly help us get back to cat 1.

Intriguing yung "something". Sorry for being cynical. That said, it seems PAL is on to new and good things, i do not like to ruin the positive vibes. I hope they walk the talk. As i always read here BWISIT (believe it when i see it).

Based on news reports, i read that RP-C7775 (which is PR's 3rd T7?) will be delivered this year. I think dalawa. I am not in the aviation industry though.

  17. #1917
Isn't she supposed to be due this June? AFAIK, yes, 2 T7s are supposed to be delivered this year.

  18. #1918
Good, no wonder sa timetable ng PAL ang Australia (SYD/MEL) may T7 na this June. Sana damihan pa, like SIN or HKG gets the T7 in one of their flights.

Ayus ang bagong sistema ng booking ng PAL, wala nang hidden charges. I'm looking for a flight Manila-Puerto Princesa for June 7.

Also, June 3 - 6 sasakay ako Airphil Express na turbo propeller to Caticlan. Excited ako, first time kong sasakay ng maliit na eroplano.
