MANILA, Philippines – Fans of "Ash-Lloyd" have something to rejoice about.

After being delayed over conflicts in schedule, the third installment in the series of movies starring John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo is set to resume filming.

Geronimo on Saturday confirmed to ABS-CBN News that the sequel to "A Very Special Love" and "You Changed My Life" will now resume taping after initially being stalled in May.

"Magre-resume na po 'yung JL (John Lloyd) movie, 'yung part three. Naka-four days na po kami," Geronimo said, referring to the earlier shooting days for the Miggy-Laida sequel.

Originally slated for a release in July, the movie, according to Geronimo, is still expected for a nationwide release "sometime this year."

3 years later

Joining Geronimo and Cruz in the upcoming film is actress Iza Calzado. In May, the actress-dancer expressed her enthusiasm over finally working with "Ash-Lloyd," their fans' term of endearment for the onscreen couple (Asher is Geronimo's second name).

In February, the two detailed some aspects of the film, saying that it will be set three years after the second entry in the series.

“May konting time lapse pero hindi malinaw kung gaano katagal. Ang alam ko three years mula ‘A Very Special Love.’ Basta may time lapse and sa simula ng storya, doon niyo makikita kung ano ang pagbabago,” Cruz said at the time.

“Sa bawat relationship naman laging may changes ‘di ba? Ito may time lapse so makikita natin kung ano ang pagbabago kay Laida at sa relationship nila,” Geronimo added.

With its predecessors being among the top five highest-grossing local films of all time, the third John Lloyd-Sarah film is expected to replicate the success of the first two, which were released in 2008 and 2009.
