    how bout UE...
As for UP, I'm gonna go check kung si Palad talaga ang Captain. But I'm betting on Araneta to lead the team.

As for NU, si Salibad na talaga ang Setter at si Soliven na ang Libero nila.

As for UE, ang alam ko hindi pa Grad si Rosale at babalik si Dawis.

    MVT Update:
UP's Captain is Mico Lucindo and Myco Antonio sa DLSU.

I think UP has good middles in Palad and Tianzon. As far as I know, Tianzon was a Best Attacker in Saint Scho and one of the recruited middles. And yeah, I agree that this is Angeli Araneta's breakout year. Maghahalimaw yan. Ramos or Lasmarias must step up in the Open and Se must also do better in the utility. Libero must step up too.

NU's gonna be a rebuilding team for a year. From what I've been told, Coach Francis is thinking of making Aganon a middle hitter this year since Nepu and Bayron might take up the open spots. Of course, Sante will still be a middle while Mandapat might be their utility. But nothing's final yet with regards to positions but their rotation will involve the same people. NU's not expecting that much this year.

UE has a good crop of volleyball players. I think they can pass as one of the teams with deep bench. Rosale, Dawis, Caballero, Ponon, Masangkay, Roces, etc. were heavily recruited too by other UAAP schools when they were in high schools. Since a lot returned and with other players gaining exposure last UAAP, I think they have a good chance to "not place 8th" this year or even challenge the other rebuilding squads. I'm also glad that they were able to turn their 2 days a week training to 5 days and they were able to adjust it with their accounting/engineering classes. Good move by new coach Boy Dalistan.

^Oo nga eh. For me the face of NU Volleyball is actually Vec Mangui. Pag sinabing NU, siya talaga naaalala ko. Haha.

They have Faith Bulan and some from their high school and beach volleyball. Their returnees would be Ellaine Roces, Grace Masangkay and Seth Dawis. I think they won't finish below 6th.

I seriously think UE's going to be a good team this year. New Coach, consistent training and Lucio Tan. They've also been aggressive in recruitment. As far as I know, since Coach Roger Gorayeb took out Ellaine Cruz in the San Sebastian team, UE has been pursuing her nga daw.

excited din ako sa Rookie of the year plum....
pasok pa ba si Valdez dito?

  14. #94
Hindi na pwede mag-ROY si Alyssa since she is technically a 2nd year student in ADMU, as she had to serve her residency during her first year.

  15. #95

  16. #96

^This is off topic but I think Mark Lee, Chris Macasaet and Sam Lubi have all graduated. Renz Casanova's the most senior. But since he's the libero, he can't be team captain. But really, it's about time for FEU to win the Men's volley title. I mean after this season, they will lose Labrador, Avila, etc. to graduation.

    On topic:
Who knows? NU might have some surprises/improvements. We'll see. Like I said, the NU community is not expecting that much from them this year.

  18. #98

While most anticipate an ADMU-DLSU match up in the finals (including me),
we can't take away the fact that:

    1. UST still has Rhea, Maica, Maru and Judy.
They have fought and won numerous titles already.
Their new coach can also spell a difference.

    2. FEU will surely shine as Morada plays her last year in UAAP, with the talented new players we have seen performed and delivered last season. (Vargas, Roxas)
    Coach Nes and Coach Shaq=

    3. ADU will still rely on their resiliency and scrappy defense.
We still can't tell if they have new Bentings in the making.

    4. UE is lurking.

    5. UP may be improving.

    6. NU is rebuilding.
(Soliven stated that she is no longer part of the team.)

    ---

    Barely two months to go.
    It's too early to tell.

As much as I hate to admit it, Ateneo will be the team to beat this season.. i'm a DLSU supporter, and I believe esp. if Cha Cruz would still be around, that DLSU can still win back to back, depending on the performance of their rookies.. IMHO

Of course you can never discount UST, most of their lineup last season is still intact..

    F4 Fearless Forecast :
    DLSU
    ADMU
    UST
    FEU
