As for the DLSU lady spikers, my golly even their team b players are really strong...

Yes Gohing will still be their main libero and as I watch their training and their rotation during their games in baguio..Theodosio will be fielded in as regular player not a libero and my gosh they are so solid back line defenders with Mel..
Good to see that Mel will prove again how she won the UAAP71 ROY.

As for the MVP, I will always support Maica Morada to win that award.

As For Season 74 Womens Mvp

    DLSU: Cha Cruz/MARANO/GUMABAO

    UST:ORTIZ

    ADU: PAU

    ADMU: CAINGLET/VALDEZ

    FEU: MORADA

But I think its gonna be head to head between Cha, Pau, and Maicah
But I guess we will be surprised by Gumabao in IMO..
Just wait and see how Gumabao became a monster: as I saw her with their BAGUIO games..she will be a TRIPPLE THREAT to the other teams....very good blocker as we've known..but you will be amaze to see her attacking in 3 areas: UTILITY-OPEN-MIDDLE!

WOW. Can't wait to see that. Bakiitt antagal pa bago mag-November?

She'll be added to the list of my favorite versatile players; Maica, Cha and Shaira.

gi reyes of ust is also someone to look forward for,.

  6. #66
as for the other team..I have no idea if who will be someone to look for...

I was just so lucky I was able to see DLSU WVT rotation and plays with their current line up..
everyone for them is a KEY PALYER

but most noted: MARANO matured a lot and much solid hits.
    FAJARDO-ESPERANZA attacking for UTILITY
    position (SOLID HITTERS)
GUMABAO nangugulang n din nagmature solid
kung solid, halimaw kung halimaw complete package she is now dependable in backrow defense also..much watched out to be

BACK ROW DEFENSE naman...MARANO and CHA as we know THEODOSIO, CHAYENE CRUZ, and MEL+FAJARDO-ESPERANZA tandem such amazing diggers too.

Who was the leading spiker in DLSU last season? Alarca and Mercado will be sorely missed by DLSU. Unless, they have a quality rookie like Valdez.

IN MY OPINION, Ateneo is the team to beat this season.

Hmmm.... Feisty comment, some people may contest it but to each is own, right?!

Heard it from the grapevine, DLSU have indeed acquired "super rookies", 4 or 5 i think. To name one, the highly touted, Carol Cervesa(younger sis of former lady spiker) & oh, did you miss/forgot the "other" highly anticipated recruit from USTHS in the name, Kim Fajardo?!

So I say, even if I'm a big Ateneo fan, DLSU is still a force to be reckon with.

DLSU might have "owned" season 73 but in this coming season(season 74), in "my opinion",things would be quite interesting to say the least. Much unpredictable & more exciting matches. There are frontrunners & underdogs but not a sure winner. Goodluck to all teams!!!

Can't wait for Season 74 Womens Volleyball.

Still rooting for ADMU!One Big Fight!!!!!

DLSU will always be a force to reckon with and so are the other teams in the UAAP.

Fajardo was more of a setter way back in HS. Have yet to see her play as a utility spiker.

Every year DLSU gets a good batch of rookies but not all of them are ready for college play. It will be nice if Garbin does well this year as she has led Hope Christian against USTHS with Valdez at the helm.

Agree with this. Of course ADMU fans are going to think that they'll win and likewise DLSU fans will think that they'll win. But like you said, mas exciting ang Season 74. For one, ang daming new faces. Pero bawat team may butas. Unlike last year na ang DLSU, wala. =D

I have no "insider" knowledge or haven't seen them play after uaap volleyball season, whatsoever, but from what I know & read from other forums. DLSU, I think, have a lot of combination & position switching to do & for me the crucial edge the lady spiker have is if Cha Cruz plays her last year of eligibility(There camp is still mum, not confirming as to whether or not she will play) Why did I say that?! Bec if there is something lacking on team, that's a "realiable"/experienced open hitter, which is very crucial bec most of the time OH are the first option for an attack specially if the reception is not that good/faulty. DLSU might use the upcoming Unigames this oct to "size-up" the competition for i heard all UAAP teams (yes including Ateneo) to gauge if indeed Cha Cruz will be needed. With the pool of talents they have, they may not need her.

If Cha Cruz will play I would want to see this rotation:

    OH1: Cha Cruz
    MB1: Marano
    Setter: Fajardo
    OH2: Tui
    MB2: Gumabao
    utility: Garbin

I also wondering that the reason why Gumabao is in BV. She might also be groomed to replace Mercado's spot & be moved to the Open Hitter position....hmmmmm....interesting dont you think?

  12. #72
Coach Ramil do this rotation actually...

    Open1: Cruz
Open2: Demicillo-if not effective Tiu-if still not effective Gumabao
    Middle1: Marano
Middle2: Gumabao/Cerveza if Gumabao in the open
    Utility: Fajardo/Esperanza

Utility Attackers if not effective: if Esperanza serving she will do settings and Joanne Siy in the frontline for the attacking and blocking and if Fajardo in the service line she will do the settings and Garbin in the frontline for attacking and blocking.

Though I'm a DLSU fan, let's not forget other strong intact teams like FEU and UST.

  14. #74
baka pati ADu nyan may pasabog......sa UST tama na muna HYPE pero for sure naman malaks parin sila ....this will be the last year of rhea bka magulat tayo pumapalo na sya...

  15. #75

anyway, exciting ang season na toh... parang any team could beat any team (lol )... for sure, walag sweep ngayon... hehehe

    kamusta ang UP...

    how bout UE...

  18. #78
UP's new team captain I think is Palad.

  19. #79

  20. #80
Hindi naman sa pangmamaliit sa UST pero Aiza Maizo is one of the greatest volleyball players na naproduce ng UST and I doubt if the others could do the same things that she has done for the team. Unless they would have a power rookie kagaya ni Valdez.

Probably they need a better coach.

    UE wala ako masyado balita.

FEU, may pakiramdam ako na malaki chance nila for a spot sa final 4.

Super ganda ng line-up ng parehonh teams and ADMU will surely give it all out. Lalo na sa ADMU this might be the best time for them to win the crown since marami sa kanila pagraduate na this year.
