Hi my husband and I applied for Italian Visa last Feb 10, 2012 and brought two sets of the documents required. The interviewer just asked us about our business and my husband's previous visas (austrian, italian, swiss, french) in connection to his insight travel when he was 10 years old. After which I was asked regarding my insurance plan. We noticed that the interviewer segregated the papers of our flight booking, cosmos tour, hotel vouchers, our bank certificates and our marriage contract. Then the girl asked us to take a sit and wait for the other girl from another counter to call us for our payment. When our name was called, we paid the visa fee then we were given two claim slips for feb 17. We came back at 12 noon and asked to wait till our names are called. When our name was called, the girl gave us a notice to sign on which says about the rules of Shengen Visa. I was so nervous at that time but my husband was already confident that the notice means we were granted visa. After we signed the notice we were again made to wait for our names to called. The next thing we know we got our passports with visa and was asked by the girl to check our visa. I suggest everyone who will apply to choose to have a personal appearance so that if there are clarifications regarding your papers, the interviewer can immediately ask it. Regards to everyone Can anyone suggest a nice restaurant in Rome near Pantheon where my husband and I can enjoy our first year anniversary? Thanks

Hi, I don't think matagal. They were quite quick kasi with our application. They also answer fast sa email.

how come when we called the hotline, we were advised to have our documents picked up by the courier. they will only call us if interview is necessary. ours is gonna be picked up on march 5, we are leaving march 29. i was told the processing time is around 15 days, can be earlier too. we never told that we can have the option to get interview instead of courier pick up.

we are travelling to UK after our trip to schengen zone. we already got our UK visa.

where can i shoot an email to italian embassy to request fast-track processing of our schengen visa? or get updates for the status of our visa once our documents get picked up...

i was checking the application form kanina, didn't notice kung may part dun if single entry or multiple entry ang request (or si consul na bahala dun?) and iaask yung labas-pasok sa schengen-member european countries. anyone please advise? TIA!

There is usually a section on the application form that says "Number of entries".

That's where you specify if you're applying for single or multiple.

Hi kse our travel agent suggested that we request a personal appearance. What we did is to email them a request for personal appearance with our signatures and also gave then a schedule. Like in our case we said we are available from feb 10 onwards. The letter said, "we... Our names is requesting a personal appearance for our visa application." The next day they replied and said our interview is set on feb 10. We emailed then around last week of January. Our agent adviced us to have the personal appearance so that clarifications regarding documents can be done immediately. Then we were given slips to bring when we return the week after. I think they are quick processing because the people who were scheduled for interview on feb 17 were asked to come back the week after. Hope the visa will be released in time for your trip

another question pala. kasi i have a tita sa italy, and diba may host declaration form naman if sa italian embassy magapply ng schengen visa. and may part sa form na bank details nung magiinvite. pano yun, if let's say walang bank details yung magsasign sa form? kasi totoo namang iooffer nya yung house nya samin, titirhan namin. okay na sana kas sa form may ganung part na bank details. may ibang way pa ba? valid ba pag yung personal letter from your relative sa italy stating na dun ka titira sa kanya?

oh ok. thanks for the info. i didn't know that. the travel agent never told me about it. likewise, the call center agent from italy visa hotline didn't say so. they just told me personal appearance will be requested if deemed necessary. i hope the processing time will hold true even at this point where it's already "peak season." i wanted to move my pick up date on an earlier date since we got our UK visa earlier than expected but unfortunately, no more earlier slots when i called and the earliest was march 21! my original schedule is march 5 pick up so i just maintained status quo. anyway, if 15 working days processing time will hold true, i would get the visa by march 26 or 27, in time for the trip. hehe. i just hope that they could do it faster so we don't have to worry about it. haha.

i just called the VISA hotline and they advised me that aside from my flight booking from Manila to Europe, if I'm going to travel within Europe through plane, I also have to submit tickets as well. Not required for train tickets (which is confusing, really. I mean if I were to travel from France to Belgium by train, I don't have to present my tickets but if I'm travelling from Rome to Venice by plane, I have to present a ticket?). I had to email the embassy to check and I'm still waiting for their confirmation. Any inputs on this?

You need the bank details unfortunately. That is the proof of your Tita's residency status and financial capacity to host; host meaning housing and cost of living. Yes pwede kang makalusot but I wouldn't count on it. Its better to be prepared, sayang naman application fees. Someone did this on the schengen thread and was denied.

You shouldn't have declared that you're flying. You can still use your plane ticket if you already bought it. Ganyan talaga schenghen when it comes to flying as you will experience madaming checks, minsan walang sense.

Does anyone know if the Italian embassy still allows tourist visa applications through personal appearance?

I called the visa inquiries number and the agent said that all they know is that personal appearance is only for business and religious visa applications.

We already have a courier pick up date of March 27 but we want to apply earlier since we have travel plans on April 25. Our travel agent said it takes 21 working days. Comments here say only 15 calendar days. I'm worried we won't receive our passports back in time
