I earlier said that when the President delivers his State-of-the-Nation Address on July 25, we have to be reminded of the sickening stories about public school students in overcrowded classrooms. There are also the stories of lack of facilities, of teachers, and even of dirty toilets. Sometimes, teachers don’t even have chalk to write with on blackboards.
This is the true state of the nation.
Despite these, the President gave lawmakers more pork barrel – when everybody knows that 30 to 40 percent of these funds go to corruption. What a screwed up sense of priority!
Now we have the calamity of flood-stricken members of the Muslim and Christian communities in Cotabato City, Maguindanao, North Cotabato and Sultan Kudarat. There are meters deep of water lilies or hyacinths clogging the Rio Grande of Mindanao.
The archbishop, public officials and the general public have ben crying for help for weeks now, but all they got was a one-day visit from Department of the Interior and Local Government Secretary Jesse Robredo, who promised them that he would seek the help of the Palace. Alas, the President is not listening.
There is also the wave of criminality – the rising incidence of carjacking, kidnapping and killings. What are the police doing?
We have no need for the President to tell us his own version of the State of the Nation. We know.
kailan nga uli yung SONA?
nang makapagtinda ng effigy ni Abnoy!
for sure, madaming bibili para sunugin yun!![]()

President Noynoy Aquino’s Second State of the Nation Address (SONA)
President Noynoy Aquino (PNoy) will be giving his second State of the Nation Address (SONA) soon. Like his first SONA, his speech will most likely be full of motherhood statements similar to all the previous speeches he had delivered since he announced his plans to run for the Presidency in 2009. There is very little hope that his speechwriters will come up with something more substantial or that has something we can use as a basis for clinging on to any kind of hope that this current administration could bring about real “change”. You can bet your hard-earned Peso his second SONA will be filled with a long list of the former administration’s “faults” as usual.
What PNoy has to say is likely to be something that we’ve all heard before. There was nothing to indicate in his first year in office that he plans to advocate any changes in the country’s institutions, systems or culture, that can actually help move our country forward. As mentioned in my previous article, PNoy is “from the pampered oligarchy” and therefore part of the problem. This fact seems to escape most of the people who voted for him even after a year of seeing mediocre performance on the job. PNoy has become so predictable that it is hard to imagine what motivates him to report for work nowadays.

PNoy’s 1st year, SONA speeches to be ‘thematic, inspirational’
President Benigno Aquino III’s speech to mark his first year in office on Thursday and his State of the Nation Address (SONA) late next month will be thematic and inspirational but will not include “details," a Malacañang official said Wednesday.
At a press briefing, Presidential Communications Operations head Herminio Coloma said the technical details of President Aquino’s accomplishments will be presented by the five clusters of his Cabinet.
“As much as possible, hindi siya nagtatalumpati nang mahaba, even yung SONA nais niya maikli lamang. Kaya yung talumpati niya bukas, yung talumpati niya sa SONA, maaaring thematic, inspirational, aspirational pero kung hinahanap ay mga detalye, maaaring matunghayan doon sa SONA technical report," he said.

Not surprising. More motherhood statements, coming up!![]()

Di ba ang SONA e report ng achievement ng nakaraang isang taon at iyung nakaplanong gawin sa susunod na taon? Ano itong thematic, inspirational, aspirational ? Abnoy na abnoy.
"Will not include details"- Ayaw nilang masyadong mabomba ng mga kritiko sa mga fiction details nila.
"Maikli lang ang Sona"- The longer PNoy speaks the higher chances that he will Adlib, and we all know what happens when he speaks something that is not written in the paper.
"Thematic, Inspirational, aspirational"- Tulad nung talumpati niya sa La Salle?
Pero kulang pa, isama na rin ang "Fictional and Pointing Finger" para kumpleto
Alam naman na siguro ng buong sambayanan na incompetent si PNoy tulad ng opinyon na sinasabi ninyo. Wala na pong bago duon. Eh, ano po ba ang inyong imumungkahing gawin para mabigyan ng solusyon ang ating sitwasyon ngayon?

Hey guys, the President will give a public address tomorrow...
http://www.mb.com.ph/node/324683/palace-cite
He [Lacierda] said the public should give judgment when the President delivers a public address on June 30, his first year in office. “We will let you judge the performance based on what the President will say,” he said.

Let the judging begin...![]()
