Enrile warns China vs showing Aggression toward Philippines

Enrile warns China vs showing Aggression toward Philippines
    06-13-2011

Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile on Monday warned China against showing aggression toward the Philippines amid the worsening dispute of claimant countries over the Spratlys Islands.

"I would caution China in using or showing any sign of aggressiveness against the country," said Enrile on Monday. "If they will show they are using their very strong military capability to undermine the interest of a friendly neighbor, the world will raise their eyebrows."

He said the Philippines can invoke the RP-US Mutual Defense Treaty in case of a foreign attack.

"Any attack against the forces of either the US or the Philippines in the treaty area will mean an attack against the party to the Mutual Defense Treaty. So we can invoke the MDT," he said.

Go Manong Johnny! Give them something to think about...

I wonder what the Chinese ambassador's reaction will be if he sees or reads this latest statement coming from manong Enrile who is the third highest official of the land.

The US already has three of its ships heading to the coast of palawan and we haven't even invoked the MDT yet!

    USS Chung Hoon

    USS Howard

    USNS Safeguard

I think Noynoy should have spoken ahead of Enrile. Wala talaga tayong aasahan dahil void of executive leadership ang Pilipinas. They should replay Ninoy's speeches wishing for China's dominance over the US, but the Chinese must realize that Ninoy is a double agent and what is happening to Libya today is likely to happen to China sooner than later.

China is a crude military force. It is just employing the "political warfare" tactics of Hitler, but I do not think it can last in battle or it can hold on to its position without completely undermining its current political and economic strategies.

Just imagine if major countries were to freeze the assets of China worldwide because of its military aggression. In this day and age of global economic weakness, confiscating the assets of China overseas would be a very attractive windfall for all countries. All countries would wish the present Chinese power threat completely destroyed and its real estate dismembered into smaller states.

The Chinese leaders would probably execute the troublemakers including the stupid Filipinos who believe in made in China promises rather than entertain the idea of destroying the opportunities it already opened for itself. China stands to lose more politically, socially and economically than gain Spratlys, Palawan or the Philippines.

Chinese are good businessmen and never a great military force. The communists in China took over because they had no choice and the country was bankrupt by their nationalist partners. Would they risk internal destruction just to support Filipino collaborators who only think they know? That is stupid, but rich people make wrong decisions thinking they can afford to be stupid.

Watch China get run over by world politics the same way as Libya. Should that happen, then they need to purge the bad Filipino advisers who fooled them into the dirt trap.

China is untouchable for 5 reasons:

Unlike Libya, China has an arsenal of nuclear weapons that can reach any part of the earth.

Unlike Libya, Russia has China's back. There is a reason why China and Russia regularly have joint-military exercise.

Unlike Libya, China is a resource giant.

Unlike Libya, China has diplomatic pull. China is not an outcast.

The US is China's biggest trading partner. They are dependent of one another. China's economy will collapse without the US, just like the US economy will collapse without China.

Don't overstate the importance of the Philippines. Nobody believes a Filipino is worth dying for. Filipinos should accept the responsibility of their own sovereignty.

Tinulungan naman tayo ng USA dati. Noong tinalo natin ang Spain bigla silang pumasok at tinalo ang Spain. Noong tinalo natin ang Japan bigla silang pumasok at tinalo ang Japan. Noong malakas pa ang Japan iniwan tayo, "I shall return daw".

The US embassy made it clear yesterday that the US will not help the Philippines fight off this blatant land grab by the Chinese.

The United States yesterday said it will not side with any party in the Spratlys conflict, which is to say that the Philippines’ most powerful ally will not be coming to its aid should its spat with China escalate into a shooting war.

The US Embassy made this clear yesterday in reaction to a Malacańang statement earlier yesterday expressing confidence that Washington would honor its commitment under the two countries’ Mutual Defense Treaty to come to the aid of a beleaguered ally.

“The US does not take sides in regional territorial disputes,” the US press attaché Rebecca Thompson said in an e-mailed statement when contacted for comment to deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte’s invoking of the 60-year-old MDT.

Thompson said the US was “troubled by incidents in the South China Sea in recent days that have raised tensions in the region” and that Washington opposes “the use or threat of force” by any of the countries with rival claims to the Spratly islands.

The brief statement said the US “shares a number of national interests with the international community in the South China Sea” but did not mention the Philippines or the two countries’ over-a-hundred-year-old ties and mutual defense pact.

Filipinos should not fight for Spratly's. The only reason why the Chinese are in Spratly’s is because they had been hoodwinked by Filipino politicians who sold them a dud. There is no oil in Spratly’s.

Extending or expanding territory is not a good idea for China since that would multiply the cost of national defense, which are non-productive overhead costs. Such higher cost of maintenance would significantly weaken their existence and gamble away the prosperity it is currently enjoying.

But you know what? I think these people are too greedy they are unable to detect the truth. The world economic plight suffered due to the emergence of China. Just think of how many countries would see fit to punish China given the chance. The Chinese are really in a worse situation with their unhealthy global trade partners than China is to us.
