I like the Hyundai Accent becoz its korean made and its not affected by the japan quake.
Better and more horsepower and torque than any on the lists.

I hope someday all taxiS will be AITOMATIC TRANSMISSION

kung sa durability let's say 5 years mo magagmit ang taxi, ano ang recommended. by that time sigurado k ofor junk na ang taxi unit

vios na ako ... madaming taxi operators ang gumagamit nito ...
may surplus na parts na rin ito .... the more available parts the cheaper to maintain ...

Kung 5 yrs, accent pa din. 5yr warranty so meaning talagang tantyado nila na kaya ng gawa nila limang taon.

Also yung mga nakaka usap ko na cabbie driver, kahit yungmga may dala ng vios, preffered nila yung accent, tipid daw talaga mabilis, at lakas a/c kahit tanghali. compared sa vios. may heating problems pa daw vios kaya naka angat mga hood. though mukang wentong driver lang to.

5yrs warranty only applies kung sa casa ka nag pa change oil every 5k pms ... pag ikaw ang gumawa or sa iba mo pinagawa .. void na iyang warranty mo ..
ang 5k change oil sa casa {hyundai} ay nsa P4thousand at ang every 10thousand ay nasa P8thousand na {regular oil lang ito } ...
may service booklet ka papirmahan every pms mo kaya may record sila kahit any branch ...

I know that.

@ 5 year vehicle warranties (and any warranty be it 3 years, 2 years, 10 years, etc):
    - Parts that will matter on the daily grind subject to wear and tear (suspension, brakes, clutch, etc.) are not covered by these. Also, once a vehicle is used for business or "for hire" purposes, the warranty period is either void or shortened further by the manufacturer.
    - Taxi operators rarely go for CASA service so its basically void already.

The Hyundai Accent is the weapon of choice now however the main worry on this is turbo failure and costly CRDi injector pump repairs once the mileage racks up.

If i were to have a cab, id probably get a Toyota Avanza and LPG it with a good SGI kit or the Accent diesel.

Buhayin ko ang thread na ito.In Cebu, they have Kia Sephias and Avellas na ginagamit as taxis! Siguro decade old na sila (or more) at ginagamit pa sila!

Lifan 520 taxi, saw one. Pero inside our village twice on separate dates

A lot use surplus Korean cars as taxis in Cebu and Davao.

They use a lot of surplus cars in Davao and Cebu, kahit Japanese (daming Nissans).

Mas madali kasing ipasok, if you know what I mean.
