Seriously just do yourself a favor and go watch it. If you don't like it when you've finished it then at least you've watched the most hyped anime to air recently.

Just cause Madoka has strong religious symbolisms doesn't mean it mirrors Evangelion. Might wanna recall what happened in the End of Evangelion and compare that to Madoka's finale.
Also Sailormoon and Madoka being both in the MG genre is their only similarity.
Madoka is actually both a deconstruction and a reconstruction of the MG genre.
^^I didn't mean it literally, Madoka is Sailor moon with the elements of mind**** from Evangelion. The plot is an OK to me, though, it is not epic.
Pero huwag mo itong gawing basehan ng pagiging DEEP plot dahil di hamak na mas marami pang maganda kesa Madoka in terms of story, LOGH for example, like Code Geass but 10x better with no supernatural stuff and more politics, corruption, psychological warfare, strategy, etc.
