I plan my purchases before hand by checking on release dates.

But if I see a popular title that I want and selling cheap enough in Greenhills (most likely used), I immediately scarf it up. Cause it'll probably vanish in a day or two if I leave it there. (Bought a used orig PS2 copy of RE4 for 300 pesos on impulse the other day)

The only things stopping my purchases is whether or not Asian version lang ang binebenta. I have to ask around and research on pros and cons (if any) kung aandar ba yang Asian version sa U.S. 360 unit namin, kung compatible for multiplayer (with PSP games) with friends I play with, kung compatible ang DLC with my U.S. account.

Naalala kita bigla kasi nabanggit mo DLC..

    http://www.pinoyexchange.com/forums/...d.php?t=430329

Xbox 360 - For as long as the game works in your unit (regardless of what version of that game is) and the DLC is available in the marketplace of your Xbox Live account (regardless of the region of your account). It will work.

Thank you for the reminder. I forgot about it due to other conflicting posts in other websites and inane advice from unenlightened sales persons.

Before, I was an impulsive buyer of videogames. I found it hard to sleep if I didnt buy and play that particular game. I was also tracking down the release dates. This was around 10 years ago.

Now, I've laid low. I still love playing videogames kaya lang practicality comes in. I do have the money to buy but choose not to because I have no time to play. Heck, my Wii console is eating dust. I basically spent maybe 1-2hrs a day playing NBA2K12 and browsing then download movies/TV series on my PC.

For the longest time, i've been wanting to buy a PS3 and Xbox360 unit but till now nagdadalawang isip pa ako because they might end up gathering dust as well.

    50/50 usually.

Sa console gaming, pinagiipunan ko talaga yan.

Sa online gaming, dati medyo impulsive ako sa pagtop-up para sa in-game perks - pero medyo na-outgrow ko na to.

Sa handheld gaming, iPhone 4S hardware ko ngayon, jailbroken pa so medyo tipid at most apps na may in-app purchase, madaling nadadaya... *snicker*

I usually by a game pag inaabangan ko talaga sya and if maganda yung reviews. pag second hand games dun ako impulse buyers hehehe

  13. #32
the first time tends to be impulsive..

It can turn out to be a different story once I ran out of old games to play though...

Planned. I read and watch previews. If it sucks according to most reviews, I won't buy it. I have little time to play as it is, dapat sulit na

Oh, I only disregard reviews for one game(series only)....Dynasty Warriors!

  15. #34
Most of the time, I set a budget for the games I plan to buy. The only game I brought on impulse is the collector's edition of Atelier Rorona (since it was sold at a convention). Once I finish that, I will go for Atelier Totori and Atelier Meruru.

    wait for the steam sale

I frequent the RPS bargain bucket and the neogaf amazon thread
so madalas ako makakita deals (AAA games under $10)

for ps3, wala ako alam na deals site eh
so daan lang minsan sa Datablitz, buy something that's less than 1k

dapat ayusin sony next gen digital nila
give me AAA $9 games sony!

The only time I buy games legitimately is when the plot/characters start inducing daydreams. The rest I beg, borrow and steal.

In fairness naman when I get together with a franchise, I commit. As in lahat ng sequel/prequel/whatever-quel, pati mga dlc kung anu-anong pack, binibili ko.

Although I'm starting to rethink this policy with the Mass Effect trilogy. The always-on DRM thing is such a pain in the behind.

I only buy games for PSP after I finish the game that I'm previously playing.

Example: Bumili ako ng Syphon Filter Dark Mirror sa PSP.

saka intay ng mga 6 mos - 1 year baka sakaling ilabas yung same game with all the patches/dlcs etc.
