I hope they will back Sev Sarmienta and Boom Gonzales. But I doubt if ABSCBN will even allow them.

Andy Jao as well.

Sev Sarmenta is not with ABS-CBN. He is with the Shakey's V League and he also hosts In this Corner on PTV-4.

As for Andy Jao, he is not allowed to cover the games because he is connected with a PBA team. He can only cover a game if Rain or Shine is eliminated.

Sev covered only 2 playdates for AKTV in the first conference. He left because AKTV wanted him to speak more in Tagalog. Sev is more comfortable speaking in English, which he always did when he was with Vintage and Solar.

The hell with that midget Mico Halili's shot at being funny. He even found the Menor-Mario West incident something to laugh about. Parang tino-tolerate pa nya yung kalokohan ni Menor. Medyo corny na lately ang AKTV Center trying to make fun of everything. Nothing bad in injecting humor to the coverage but there are times when things need to be taken seriously. And we fans have been long craving for a good analysis of games. Hindi yung parang naglagay ka ng dalawang tambay sa kalye para mag-analyze ng laro.

Excellent point. Humor isn't bad really, but not at the expense of substance and content. What should be done is to inject humor IN THE DISCUSSION, not to make humor the focal point and the analysis trying to find its way into the discussion.

Nowadays, the AKTV Center creative team tries to find a way to think of a funny scenario (e.g. "The Jason Webb show) and then throws the relevant elements out of the window. TNT has done well by focusing on the game, and let the innate wit and humor of the panelists to take effect. They allow Chuck to rib Ernie or Kenny and vice versa, they caricaturize the panelists as well, but all within the framework of their analysis. Similarly, it doesn't dominate the entire halftime or post game discussion.

AKTV kasi wants to bring the PBA telecast closer to the masses. Kaya nga they let go of sportscasters like Sev Sarmenta and Cesca Litton na panay Ingles ang kanilang sinasalita.

Exactly, Sir JPM. They have been trying so hard to pattern the coverage to TNT but they are completely going the opposite direction by being lost in the "funny part" of it.

talagang, wala na bang iba pwedeng magcommentate? bat ba nila pinagpipilitan si Jolas? panay, singit yung mga nangyayari sa buhay niya at kung ano ang na-experience niya at kala mo kausap yung ka-inuman niya hindi professional ang dating.

AKTV, si chiqui bengga boy, magoo "no chance in hell", dominic uy, eric reyes, jolas, nalang ba ang makuha niyo? walang budget or quality control man lang?

I don't know why AKTV cannot hire more eloquent panelists. Only Webb, Halili, Del Rosario, Henson makes sense. Magoo is borderline for me, ditto with Rado. Uy, Chiqui Reyes, and Aaron Atayde just sucks.

They should have Patricia Hizon and those other fluent panelists. We still have Jimmy Javier, Vince Hizon, Freddie Webb, Tommy Manotoc, Randy Sacdalan and Danny Francisco among others.

Why settle for Uy, Atayde, Eric Reyes and Chiqui Reyes? Too bad that Ed Picson is pre occupied with his job at boxing.
