Nothing against Erica, but I guess the production needs to look on these details. She'd look prettier if she'd know the game well. Sometimes you need to be passionate at your job to be effective.

I miss seeing and hearing credible courtside reporters. I miss Lia Cruz, Mica Abesamis, Cesca Litton and Patricia Hizon. They are the ladies who knows the game.
Iyan ang nangyayari kapag nag-showbiz ang AKTV since it's a sister channel of TV5.

Lia is with News5 so I doubt if she will transfer back to sports.

Mica is under contract with Solar while Cesca has a contract with ABS.

Patricia was at the AKTV studio in last Sunday's coverage.

ABS has the facilities, equipments , logistics and trained personnel; while the IbC13 is just in its infancy.
In fairness, AKTV is doing everything to improve the facilities of IBC. The problem is, IBC is a government station so there has to be a process on how TV5 can strengthen the equipment.

ABS would have won the PBA bidding had the league removed the lockout policy on ads much earlier.

thanks to vic del rosario for turning the pba into a showbiz venue... viva vintage was the start of the showbiz-pba mixture...
***ABS did show the UAAP on Ch 2 but that was only for two finals games. If you show the PBA on Ch 2 every W, F and Sun, many of their shows will be affected.

I suggested noon that only the Sunday games shld be aired on Ch 2 but the station has Sunday programs that can't be pre-empted like The Buzz, Rated K and Gandang Gabi Vice.

*** Bobong Velez should not have sold Vintage to Viva. If he did not sell his prized company, probably the PBA would have still been with Vintage by now.

they have to make some changes in their programming talaga if they want it to work with the pba... personally, the 3 shows you mentioned can go off the air and it won't matter at all...

yup... velez selling it to del rosario's viva was the start of his company's demise... viva vintage i think started the bakya coverage of the pba... only solar made a good change but it was short-lived nga lang...

Ang game sa PBA is an advertisement.

AKTV should have continued what Solar started.

60%-70% English is better.

At yung nahihirapan magtagalog like Jessica Mendoza, wag syang pilitin. They should allow them to use the language they are most comfortable.

i already said it here before, take by example sila Patricia, Mica and Cesca and other Courtside reporters of Solar; kapag alam nilang hirap mag-salita/makaitindi ng tagalog, they asked the question in ENGLISH and kung pure PINOY, in FILIPINO or sometimes in TAGLISH ang tanong which is walang problema.

agreed on SOLAR Style. sana ibalik nalang nila yung ganung style of Coverage!

  13. #473
the problem lang talaga is the pba seemed to have chosen a coveror na parang naiwan sa 90s era ang pag-cover... they just aren't good... i'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt, reasoning to myself na bago pa lang ang aktv, but then, i can't find myself believing that reason because i think na same din naman yung mga taong ginagamit nila during the abc-5 days... so really, dapat gamay na nila... hopefully, they will improve with their coverage as the games progresses... if in a month's time, the viewers still have the same complaints, the pba is gonna be in deep trouble...

I absolutely agree James. When the MBA was folded in 2002 and if they partnered with ABS, for sure PBA would earn a lot.. I also touched with how Bobong Velez manages his talents thats why he still has the record for longest tenure broadcast PBA partner which was written in Sev's column. Imagine, Vintage will continue to purchase broadcast equipments and be at par with our current partners. Maybe they have more camera angles and elegant slomo replays (like super slomo) if they continue to stride as of this date..

But then again, AKTV is here to promote PBA and I wish them the very best!!

AKTV has five years to make the PBA TV coverage better. This is just their first few weeks on the job so let's give them time.
