Weighing in on the new crumb we got. When I first saw the title, Tim Halperin's song played instantly in my head "That this is the last song I'll write for you...", lovely ballad, heh.

Anyway. I think we've been stuck into thinking that when David said "very different" for him he was talking in terms of music genre. Ergo the fears of going into country, southern rock, acoustic rock, polka, Bollywood, calypso, and so on and so forth. But lately I've been thinking, what if it was in terms of approach, theme, or attitude, mood, etc.? What if TLSIWFY (whew! can we have a nickname instead?) is an angry, bitter, spit-and-vinegar, yes-I-can-be-douchey-when-slighted sort of song?

Which brings me to the art cover. My first reaction? Skeered me and made me want to hide under a table. He looks intense with intent, like he's staring me down. I checked with a male friend of mine, asked him what he thought about it and he said it looks like David wants to kill him. So yes, it's very... alpha male from the male perspective too. Threatening and challenging. Just my opinion.

As expected he sang Permanent. He obviously struggled while telling the back story of this song, but he got through it, sang the song beautifully. I couldn't have been more proud to be a David Cook fan than at that moment.

Hello peeps :waves: Pasensya na hindi ako masyado nakakadaan lately. In any case, for the latest updates, you all know naman to check the @COOKistas timeline (or FB, since the posts there are mostly tweets from that account).

About the DC Manila show kuno, ganito nangyari. There was this video -

in which David mentions that his management is finalizing plans for what may be a "short Asian tour". Pero hindi sinabi kung saan exactly. (He also says the same thing in this interview with Lyndsey Parker of Yahoo! Music - Click!

I got some intel a few weeks ago that Dave will be going to Indonesia, where "Hard To Believe" has been getting a lot of airplay (40 radio stations, mostly real ones ha, not only internet stations). I'd bet my money that THAT is where Dave will have a show. Ngayon, kung kasama ang Pilipinas hindi pa tayo sure. Everyone is saying (pati mga Americans) that he can't NOT go to Manila. And we did do a survey about this sometime ago, so...

But, I'd rather na we wait for real confirmation. Hangga't walang nag-aannounce na promoter, I want to treat it as hindi pa confirmed.

Yang philconcerts I did ask them yesterday when they tweeted the video above, kung kasama nga ang Pilipinas. They said yes. And that's how the news spread. (My bad, I didn't make more masusing pangungulit/investigation.) After chapark and I talked about it, I agree with her in thinking na baka wala pa rin talagang hawak na info yang philconcerts. They probably just made an assumption. Hindi naman kasi promoter ang philconcerts. Some of us asked Manilaconcerts din kanina, and kookiness got a reply -

So, there's no date set yet. Hindi naman din sinasabing hindi darating.

Ok, now about Dave leaving RCA naman. From what we know, it seems like Dave's contract was up, and he decided that it was time for a change. The way I see it, he wasn't dropped - it was probably a mutual decision, or maybe Dave just didn't want to renew anymore because he wants more creative control.

Anyway, he talks about this and many other things (like moving to Nashville, about the new song, etc.) in an interview with Shirley Halperin of THR. This is a 20-minute interview - intelligent, informative, and insightful. MUST WATCH -
