yeytet, good decision to bring your family here and at the same time making sure that you maintain your career/profession. make sure to prepare or make an arrangement that you maintain a comfortable life for your family like you are used to at the same time settling your family in a safe (but economically weaker) country. kaya either keep your good job their in the middle east muna or study to have your profession accredited here. might take you 2 to 3 years pero ok lang basta handa at may budget for that. bago ka magpunta alamin mo na yung mga requirements at aral kaagad.

    http://www.yvr.ca/en/flight-information/arriving.aspx

Kung marami kayong darating that day, ang tip ko eh unahan mo na silang lahat papuntang NEW IMMIGRANTS office -- RUN if you have to. After your interview saka na kayo nag sight-seeing inside the airport, at least that way, tapos na ang matinding stress and pressure.

    Good luck.
leonleon, thanks so much for the tips. I will do my best to beat them all to the new immigrants office. thanks also for the link you provided, the information there is very helpful specially for us new immigrants. I found a step by step procedure from arriving to departing to final destination.

    thanks again!

Education/training: You have completed post-secondary education of at least one academic year and received a diploma or certificate.

Thank you sana po may nakasagot

Post-secondary education is education beyond high school. It is not limited to attending college and getting a degree. It can be a vocational degree, technical schools degree, etc. Kaya nga you can see in your quote "at least one academic year". Usually vocational courses sa Pilipinas 2 years di ba?

So taking your own example, sad to say, hindi ka pasok. Kasi you did not receive a diploma or certificate (as per the quote), kahit na you toiled 3 years.

    HTH.

I'm not familiar with that course, but based on your description that it is a 1 year course with accompanying certificate, then IMO dapat pasok yan.

Maybe someone here in the forum who is more familiar can concur or dissent?

    Good luck.

Sorry guys I have so many questions.

My parents and younger brother are already PR but they are in the Philippines now. They plan to go back to Canada on October 2011. I need to submit copies of their PR card even if they are outside of Canada now, right?

This is about the proof of relationship in Canada.

    Thanks again.

Strictly speaking, high school graduate in the Philippines is not the same as high school graduate in Canada or in the US.

Sa Pilipinas, Grade 1 to Grade 6 plus 4 years sa High School. Pwede nang tumapak sa college or university

Sa North America, kailangan taposin ang Grade 1 to Grade 12. So, technically speaking, may 2 years na difference ang education sa Canada versus education sa Pilipinas.

Kaya nga kapag nagpa-assess ang 4 or 5 years na Bachelor's Degree holder sa Pilipinas, ang katumbas sa Canada ay 2 or 3 years lang na college (not Bachelor's degree ng university). I found this out when I had my Bachelor's Degree assessed by University of Toronto years ago.

So, my question is - Would these factors count in determining educational attainment of Filipino job seekers?

The PR card is a proof of immigration status in Canada and not proof of relationship in Canada. You'll have to provide a separate document to prove how you are related to them like your birth certificates and your brother's certificate. Both documents would show that the three of you are related to each other.

Yes, you'll have to submit a copy of their PR cards as a proof of their status in Canada.

Pharmacist Gee, when I filed my application, I used the following to prove that I have a relative in Canada (first cousin): birth certificate of my cousin, marriage certificates of our parents (to prove that our parents have the same parents), a copy of my cousin's Canadian Passport, and a copy of utility billing showing her name and address on it.

    HTH.

    Hi sleepless105!

Sabi nila pag dating palang diyan may training pa for language efficiency, tama ba?

    Thanks!

    Ang weird...

Yung friend ko, nag-aapply for Visa.

    til now wala pang update...

(yung ibang march nagsubmit e meron ng PPR!)

ano kayang posibleng reason kung bakit wala pa?

Advisable ba na mag-email let siya? (naemail na kasi niya ang CEM. Heheh!)
