Siguro custom niya talaga yon at believer siya talaga but had no choice but go through the motion before the flashing cameras and the millions of people watching. Even in UFC you can see fighters doing the sign of the cross and pointing and glanching up (apparent saying, "this is for you up there") upon entering the octagon. Some (a few from Hawaii) openly say on the mic after a brutal victory, "First of all, i'd like to thank and praise my lord and savior jesus christ... without him this win would not be possible.", like saying, thank you for helping me whack my opponents head, almost putting him in coma or killing him and for helping me try to end his career. there's one fighter who even shouts "jesus i love you!" after a victory. How ironic.![]()
how do you know if he is being pretentious? may paraan ba para hindi magmukhang pretentious?
after each fight... he shows his devotion to his religion in a place (Las Vegas)... that has little belief in god and in a country that separates the rules of religion from the rules of the country...
that my friend is being brave!
lol! pati ba naman yun pakialaman. that's his faith, that's his fight, paki mo dun? may nawawala ba sa iyo?
Haha.
he shows that he has strong faith. walang basagan ng trip.

Whether pretentious or not, that's for God to see and judge.
Pati ba yun, pakialamanan pa. O.o
I attended the pre-fight mass at Mandalay Bay the morning of the fight and I saw lots of celebrities there, Lito Atienza, Chavit Singson, Dyan Castillejo, Vicky Belo, Hayden Kho all wishing Manny well. Nakit ko pa nga si Jinkee Pacquiao sa elevator, nag "Hi Jinky!" ako sa kaniya, sabi nung sister niya sakin "Hi Anjo!", tapo lumakad sila, looked at me and said "Si Anjo ba yun?"![]()
Before every match, Leila Barros rubs her palms on the volleyball court and does a sign of the cross. Remember?
I don't think he is showing off or being pretentious.
To me he looks like he's sincere. I agree with post #9.
duda kasi ako na baka part of his IMAGE lang ang pagiging maka-diyos niya. Not saying naman that it is TOTAL pretentiousness. Siguro AWARE siya that people notice his being religious, so he he might emphasized that more...

Ako rin naiinis sa mga taong ganun. Mashadong show off. Hindi pa makuntento sa simbahan. Ako, I really do pray a lot in public, I just don't make it obvious.
Hindi naman sya nagdasal after those wins. I mean dun sa ring.
OT: Nagdasal ba sya before nung debate nya kay Lagman?![]()
