[Jericho Rosales mum on current muse; gears up for busier 2012

Jericho Rosales is guaranteed to helm a project for ABS-CBNMANILA, Philippines — His “Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow” co-star Lovi Poe has heaped praises on him and even Queen of all Media Kris Aquino is interested in their doing a project together. It’s very well for actor Jericho Rosales who vows to never again be romantically involved with any of his leading ladies.
“Mag –focus na muna ako sa work ko,” he said on the matter at the recent press conference for Vantage Razor which he endorses.
At length, he divulged another reason he isn’t interested in having a celebrity for a girlfriend for now: He is dating a non-showbiz girl.
And that’s all.
"I'd like to keep my personal life private…but thank you na curious kayo [in my love life],” he said.
What Echo talked about at length is his craft. The 32-year-old actor recently took an acting course at the New York Film Academy right after his international movie, “Subject: I Love You” was shown. These developments gave rise to rumors that Echo mulls leaving local Tinseltown for Hollywood.
“And it’s not true, at least not in the next few years. Sayang ang career ko dito,” he said.
Actually, Echo is getting some formal education about acting and learning more about other aspects in filmmaking in preparation for his directorial debut. He revealed that his contract with ABS-CBN states that he be given a project to helm.
“Gusto kong maging director, nagpa-practice na akong mag-direk. It’s really in my heart to direct full-length films. I [hope I] can do one ‘Maalaala Mo Kaya,’ hopefully I can find one story,” he said.
Echo is also eyeing doing an indie film in 2012. He said that he’s never done one and he would like to see the kind of discipline it requires from actors.
One of the most in-demand male celebrity endorsers, Echo joked that the fee he got from Vantage Razor helped finance the construction of one of the rest rooms in his new house. Turning more serious, he talked about money and how he has found the balance between saving while not scrimping on oneself.
“Everything I earn are divided and go to several savings funds. But I also enjoy my money by buying things I want and need,” he said.
A release indicates that Echo’s cup will runneth over soon enough: He is part of the forthcoming soap, “Padre de Pamilya;” is still seen on “ASAP Rocks;” and is working on new materials for his next album.

Not just a mere echo

Jericho Rosales, endorser of Vantage Ace 2: Studying abroad is always an opportunity to learn new things.| Zoom MANILA, Philippines -
Jericho Rosales is no Echo who vanishes into thin air. His more than a decade career in showbiz proves that Jericho is here to stay. What lingers in the public mind is his body of work that has won for Jericho awards.
To make each acting assignment new, Jericho doesn’t mind to leave his comfort zone and travel miles away from Manila to recharge his acting batteries and get a better vantage point of his craft.
“I went there to study, enhance my acting skills and forget my bad habits as an actor,” says Jericho of his Big Apple sojourn. “I wanted to be inspired. So I went back to the roots (of acting).” Jericho quickly dispels rumors that “I have a career there,” although he starred in the Hollywood movie Subject: I Love You.
Jericho attended the acting for film class at the New York Film Academy. He got a “refresher” on Actor’s Acting Studio, Stella Adler and Eric Morris approaches.
“Why did I study acting for film?” Jericho asks himself. “(It was) to make my acting natural and raw. They taught me how to be sensitive and to be spontaneous. They taught me how to audition (for a role). I was also interested to know how (people) work (in Hollywood), how to land a job in the States and how to (attend) a casting.”
His stint at the film academy re-introduced Jericho to the nitty-gritty of Acting 101, scene study and monologues, among other things.
“I think I have enhanced (my work attitude,) my professionalism,” shares Jericho after finishing all the course requirements. “If you hire me as an actor, I will give my all — my 100 percent on the set. I promise to do my homework.”
If there’s an important learning from studying abroad that sticks with Jericho, it will be “how to approach a character and how to bring out the truth (in the portrayal). The viewers will know if you’re just acting. It’s an opportunity to go to the States and take advantage of the experience. I (encourage) new actors to go to an acting school in L.A. or New York. But I still want to work here in the Philippines. I just went there to study and improve my craft. It is how I keep my alas in acting.”
After the reality show I Dare You and primetime series Green Rose, Jericho is set to do three movies.
“It’s been awhile since I acted on the big screen,” says Jericho, who is part of Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow, Regal Films’ official entry to this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival. “The last one I did was with Gabby and KC Concepcion. It’s my dream to do more movies. Next year, I plan to do my first indie (titled Alagwa) and I also might involve myself in the production. (It sounds) exciting to me and I’m preparing myself for all this.”
Also in the pipeline is the Kapamilya soap Padre de Pamilya starring Piolo Pascual, Christopher de Leon and Maricar Reyes. On the side, endorsements such as Vantage Ace 2 keep Jericho busy these days. Bloomworks, Inc., makers of Vantage safety razors, offers the double-bladed razors to give men that “keen and smooth shave.” It has Dermaglide, a lubricating strip to reduce razor drag and skin irritation.
Asked about his idea of being gwapo or good-looking, Jericho replies, “Ang pagiging gwapo ay nasa loob,” adding that being respectful to others and a gentleman to women complete that package.
Thus, it’s not surprising why Jericho has remained Mr. Pogi all these years.

Jericho Rosales looking sharp
Jericho Rosales will never allow himself to go dull.
Just recently, he returned from taking up acting lessons in the US. He admitted that some people may have seen it as a waste of time, not to mention money, but he disagrees. After his experience filming Hollywood movie, "Subject I Love You," a romantic drama from director Francis dela Torre, Jericho is psyched to explore international cinematic shores.
"’Yung acting talaga for film I want to prepare myself lang for whatever in the future," he explained. "Let’s say makapunta ako abroad, kahit saan sa States, sa Asia o kung saan man ako makakuha ng project ulit na bago, ‘di ba?"
He believes that one should always strive to be always sharp.
"Tawag dun rehab," he related about what he learned in New York, "Pagdating sa acting maraming pangit na tinanggal.
"Pag pasok mo sa isang eksena, ‘yung ibang mga artista may hawak na cell phone or, let’s say, conscious na conscious sa paligid nila, that’s bad habit. What we do is, pagpasok mo, kalimutan mo na ‘yung sarili mo.’"
The actor continues to shine not only in his constant and steadfast pursuit of artistic excellence but also in his career as one of the top and most credible celebrity product endorsers in the country today. Jericho was recently named by entertainment magazine Yes! as one of the Most Beautiful Celebrities and Top Celebrity Endorsers of 2011 and today, an exciting new product adds up to his list of product endorsements: Vantage Razors!
Vantage is a brand of safety razors exclusively designed and distributed by Bloomworks Inc., a fast-growing company with more than 12 years of expertise in the health and beauty, food and fashion industries in the Philippines. Vantage Razors are manufactured by one of the pioneer razor companies in Brooklyn, New York, USA, which has been in the business for over 135 years.
Jericho embodies the ideal Vantage Man as he epitomizes the values of hard-work and dedication. It could be said that one of Jericho’s advantages in his career is the confidence that he exudes especially when he is well groomed with a clean shave in doing his work every day.
"I’m so motivated every time I go work with a clean shave! I feel extra confident knowing that I’m well groomed and Vantage really helps in giving me that added excitement knowing that I can do my work confidently and with ease each day," Jericho said. His management team, Manila Genesis, has confirmed that Jericho recently agreed to renew his contract with ABS-CBN and he is currently busy with an exciting line-up of projects, which fans can surely look forward to. The first season of his innovative reality show on ABS-CBN, "I Dare You," which he co-hosts with Iya Villana and Melai Cantiveros, recently ended and already ABS-CBN is calling for schedules of Jericho for the second season. Jericho will also return to primetime via the upcoming and much talked about soap "Padre de Pamilya" where he will star opposite Piolo Pascual, Maricar Reyes, and Christopher De Leon. Darnel Joy Villaflor, who directed the top-rating soap "Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin," will direct "Padre de Pamilya"! He is also seen on "ASAP Rocks" every Sunday where he gets to showcase his hosting, dancing, and singing prowess. With the success of his current full-length award-winning album, "Change," under Star Records which turned platinum, Jericho is also working on new materials for his next CD. A thanksgiving concert signaling his 15th anniversary in the business is also in the works.
A much-awarded actor whose recent works include playing the lead on ABS-CBN’s top-rating primetime series "Green Rose" opposite Anne Curtis, Jericho explains that one of his future plans is to eventually become a producer/director. "I feel an incredible sense of rush and adrenaline each time I learn something new about the art of filmmaking. I observe the people working behind the camera and I get very inspired by them. I am happy because the process of learning is never-ending and there is so much to explore and learn."
Fans are also looking forward to see Jericho in the silver screen for an upcoming film, "Yesterday Today Tomorrow," directed by Jun Lana, which will be Regal Films’ entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival. He is also set to co-produce and star in an indie film on human trafficking entitled, "Alagwa."
With the many blessings that he received this year, Jericho can’t help but to feel grateful for the people who continue to support him.
"I really feel privileged because I am passionate about what I do and I want to make a difference in other people’s lives through the gifts the Lord has given me. He has blessed me through the many people who continue to support me all these years: my family, ABC-CBN, my friends, my fans, and my team. I’m also very thankful now that I am part of the Vantage family. I will carry on and continue to better my craft, " Jericho concluded.

It’s Jericho versus Dennis! Hanep na mga aktor pagdating sa pag-arte. Take your pick kung sino ang mas angat sa kanilang dalawa, huh!
I hope Echo will get an award here in YTT, he is one of the best actor of his generation, BRAVO ECho!!!
