yay! i'm glad you mentioned it. which version did you watch? i have both the blu-ray & DVD. the DVD has the English version. i think i liked the English version more. the movie has it's flaws but overall it's very good. and yes, the acting & cinematography were impressive. i'm so proud of Angie.

    Hey Dodge,

I saw it on Netflix. At first they had the Bosnian version with subtitles which was really bad because the subtitle didn't match the audio. The new one was the English version which I like better. I didn't even think it's funny that they have accents when they are talking. He, he. Angelina is impressive and the actors are good.

But Pitt's co-star Morse insists the film will be a blockbuster whenever it comes out.

hello noodle! Thanks for the instagram pic of Angie on set.

Riley wanted to bow to Angelina

Actor Sam Riley admitted he felt like he should bow when Anglelina Jolie arrived on the set of their new film.

Angelina Jolie's Maleficent co-star Sam Riley has confessed he felt like he ought to bow every time he saw her on set.

The British actor - whose new film On The Road with Kristen Stewart is released in October - has been working with Angelina in Disney's fairytale spin-off movie about the Sleeping Beauty sorceress.

Sam said of working with Angelina: "She's approachable but she has an aura of a star, certainly, you want to bow when she comes on set. I do in my character."

The Control star added: "She's very nice, I know everyone says that about their colleagues but she's very cool."

The 3D film, which has been written by Linda Woolverton and is scheduled for release in 2014, reveals the events that hardened Maleficent's heart and drove her to curse the baby, Aurora (Elle).

Angelina previously revealed that her children are excited about her transformation.

"I'm having a lot of fun. I've already got my horns fitted. My kids are very happy," she said.

UNHCR Special Envoy Angelina Jolie has written a special message on the organization’s Facebook page to mark World Humanitarian Day.

“On World Humanitarian Day we remember the aid workers who have lost their lives in the line of duty and we honor the extraordinary courage and dedication of humanitarian workers around the world,” she wrote. “I had the honor and the pleasure of meeting one of these brave individuals before his murder during a visit to Pakistan, where I witnessed first-hand the incredible devotion of a very kind and gentle man. His name was Mr. Zill-e-Usman.”

For this year’s observance of the Day, which fell on 19 August, the UN launched a campaign, entitled ‘I Was Here,’ aimed at engaging one billion people through social media so they can pledge a humanitarian action, and share their individual actions with others through an interactive website, http://www.whd-iwashere.org. On the morning of Sunday, 19 August, more than one billion messages were shared at the same time.

Organized by OCHA and launched on 2 August, the campaign received the support of US performing artist Beyoncé Knowles, who, along with songwriter Diane Warren, donated the song ‘I Was Here’ to the campaign. Her contribution also included filming a video for the song at the General Assembly Hall at UN Headquarters in New York.

24 hours with Angie in Sarajevo

Angie and kids were in the Presidential Suite of the Hotel Europe. The hosts were willing to shut down the whole floor so that no one could disturb them, but she didn`t accept it. She didn`t demand anything special neither for her nor for her kids. Her lecture in Sarajevo Talent Campus lasted 2 hours instead of 45 minutes as it was planned. She watched two short films with students. Some ITLOBAH cast members were there - Zana, Branko, Boris, J. Ornela, Ermin, Vanessa. She was talking to everyone and was in a good mood.

While she was in Sarajevo Talent Campus children played with toys they got as a gift from Hotel Europe - lego, puzzles, cars, dolls, they played in the hotel pool and were given T-shirts with the logo of SF Festival. When Angie returned to the hotel around 21 pm, she organized a picnic for her children on the terrace on the 7th floor, ordered the Bosnian barbecue specialties and they had dinner together, laughing, joking and enjoying the view of the Bascarsija (famous street in Sarajevo) until the midnight.

Tomorrow morning, Angie organized brunch for ITLOBAH cast where they were joined by director Aida Begic and actress Mary Pikic. After 1 pm she greeted with them and left the hotel with her children. Although Brad couldn`t come to Sarajevo he was not forgotten. Herzegovina winery Gentille sent him a crate of red wine Barrique, the wine that he drank and liked when he was in Bosnia.

Angelina Jolie Tells Ann Curry: Brad & I Will NOT Give Interviews To TODAY

By Jen Heger – Radar Assistant Managing Editor

In the days after Ann Curry was sacked from her co-host gig on the TODAY show, Angelina Jolie reached out to the veteran journalist and told her if NBC wanted an interview with her, or fiance Brad Pitt, it would be conducted by Curry, and definitely not any of the current cast of the embattled morning news program, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.

“Angelina reached out to Ann Curry after she was fired from her gig on the TODAY show and was very clear, if ANY news program from NBC wants an interview with her, or Brad, Ann will be the only one to do it,” a source close to the situation tells us.

“Angelina has tremendous respect for Ann because of the work she has done on bringing awareness to Darfur. Ann has developed a professional relationship with Angelina and Brad, and they trust her implicitly because of her integrity. Their working relationship has developed into a friendship, and it meant the world to Ann that Angelina had reached out to her. Angelina made it clear to Ann that no one from the current TODAY show cast would get an interview with Angelina or Brad, and with rumors of an upcoming wedding for the couple, NBC will lose any interviews with the actors in the future if Ann isn’t allowed to do it,” the insider added.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Nielsen ratings released Monday indicate ABC’s Good Morning America beat TODAY last week, despite huge momentum for the NBC morning program, which was coming off two dominant ratings weeks with their exclusive coverage from the London Olympics.

GMA beat TODAY by an average of 162,000 viewers, according to the Nielsens, as TODAY only won Monday out of the five-day week. TODAY had squashed GMA during the two weeks of the Olympics by an average of more than 1.5 million viewers a week, but lost all five weeks in the ratings battle prior to the games in London.

Furthermore, Matt Lauer is “hated” by several long-time producers of TODAY and the crew is in turmoil, all as a result of the morning show host having pushed NBC executives to dump Curry as his co-anchor.

“There are several producers that have been with the TODAY show for a very long time, over ten years, and Matt Lauer is now hated by them because they feel that he is responsible for Ann Curry’s being fired. Ann was tremendously popular with the producers, cameramen, and other staffers of the show because she truly is a team player. Ann was all about the news, and breaking stories, just a true pro,” a source previously told us.

“Angelina doesn’t have a publicist, she never has, and she hand picks who she does press with. Angie doesn’t like how Ann has been treated by NBC. Yes, she is a very busy mom of six, and her work as an actress and activist, but she has been very aware of what is going on with her friend. Angelina told Brad he should let Ann interview him for all of his work in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, and Brad feels the same way about Ann that Angie does,” the insider says.

ETA: Gossip cop debunks Ann Curry story
“A rep for the “Today” show tells Gossip Cop that Curry never fielded any such call from Jolie, and added that everyone at NBC News is absolutely unaware of the Oscar winner’s supposed demand.”

I just realized something..any news from the JPs unless verified from their agents or from a credible source are all works of fiction from tabloids or any gossip sites. Radar online is equivalent to Star, In Touch and US Weekly.

Disney Casts Angelina Jolie-Brad Pitt Daughter As Young Princess
By NIKKI FINKE | Wednesday August 22, 2012 @ 4:52pm PDTTags: Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Malificent, Vivienne Jolie-Pitt

This is one of those examples of convenient casting. Four-year-old Vivienne Jolie-Pitt will appearing in the Disney 3D live action movie Malificent starring her mother Angelina Jolie as the sorceress from the fairy tale Sleeping Beauty. Vivienne, who is also Brad Pitt’s daughter, will portray Princess Aurora (Elle Fanning) as a child eventually cursed to sleep until awakened by a kiss from a handsome prince. Even though the role is minor, Vivienne is sure to pump up the publicity surrounding the film in advance of its March 2014 release date. She has a twin brother Knox Leon who is not cast in the film as far as we know because shooting in the UK is still going on. Big sister Shiloh had a cameo as Pitt’s big-screen daughter in 2008′s The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button for Paramount.

    cr deadline

‘Killing Them Softly’ Poster: Brad Pitt, A Leather Jacket And A Shotgun
    (EXCLUSIVE)

The hard-nosed Brad Pitt you came to know and love in “Inglourious ********” and “Fight Club” is back, and this time, he’s bringing his sawed-off.

In the actor’s latest movie, “Killing Them Softly,” he portrays Jackie Cogan (Pitt), an enforcer hired to track down two crooks who robbed a mob-protected poker game. The film, which already received rave reviews after its Cannes Film Festival premiere, is based on the book “Cogan’s Trade” by George V. Higgins.

Here, in conjunction with our sister site Huffington Post Entertainment, Moviefone is proud to debut a new “Killing Them Softly” poster, featuring Pitt in slicked-back hair, leather coat and a shotgun in hand (looks like those robbers picked the wrong people to steal from).

Starring Pitt, Gandolfini, Liotta and Richard Jenkins, “Killing Them Softly” hits theaters on October 19. You can check out the full poster below.

Brad is on a roll on picking up supporting roles. Here's another of those casting rumors. Its another crime drama though so it may be the director which is Brad's attraction to the project.

Stephen Gaghan to Direct 'Candy Store' With Brad Pitt, Denzel Washington Circling (Exclusive)
2:27 PM PDT 8/23/2012 by Borys Kit

The crime thriller is set up at Lionsgate.

Oscar-winning writer-director Stephen Gaghan is ramping up his next film — and he's attracting interest from major actors.

Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that Gaghan will direct Candy Store, a crime thriller he also wrote, and that Brad Pitt and Denzel Washington are in early talks to star. The film is set up at Lionsgate.

No deals are done, and sources described the discussions to be in the nascent stage. But if the film comes together with those stars, it would mark Gaghan's most high-profile directing project since 2005's Syrianna. Gaghan won a Academy Award for writing the Steven Soderbergh-directed Traffic in 2000. He also co-wrote the screenplay for next summer's Will Smith sci-fi adventure After Earth.

Candy Store is described as a "two-hander" crime thriller with meaty roles for the two main characters. A highly trained, deep cover operative starts his life over in Brooklyn as a beat cop only to discover the global organization he was dedicated to fighting is also operating in his new backyard. Jamie Foxx was said to be interested in one of the roles as well.

What cracks me up is that if Viv got a little speaking part, kiddo's got herself a SAG card yo. She's got acting credits in a big budget Disney movie. I wonder what big sis Zee got to say about this gig of lil sis.

Speaking of acting, here's an update on mommy Angie's Cleo -

David Fincher No Longer Attached to Angelina Jolie’s Cleopatra

    By Claude Brodesser-Akner

Talks have broken off between Sony and director David Fincher for a planned remake of Cleopatra starring Angelina Jolie. The studio is now seeking other candidates (including, but not limited to, Brokeback Mountain director Ang Lee – though negotiations have not commenced with Lee, nor has an offer been made).

News of the project first surfaced in June 2010, when Hollywood Über-producer Scott Rudin announced that he’d optioned Stacy Schiff’s book Cleopatra: A Life and was developing it for Jolie. In October 2010, it caught the eye of James Cameron, but then 20th Century Fox committed to filming two Avatar sequels. In January 2011, it seemed that The Bourne Ultimatum director Paul Greengrass would direct, but by March 2011, Greengrass was out and Sony began talks with David Fincher, who was just wrapping up The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo for the studio.

It’s not clear why Fincher decamped from Cleopatra, or even when. As late as last December, Fincher was still expressing enthusiasm for the project to MTV News, albeit tempered by an unwillingness to make what he termed “a giant sword-and-sandal epic. We've seen scope; everyone knows we can fake that. That stuff doesn't impress in the way that it did even 10 years ago.” Instead, Fincher said he wanted to focus on what still makes Cleopatra “relatable to today.”

Fincher’s future relationship with Sony is somewhat cloudy. On the one hand, he delivered the huge hit The Social Network in 2010, which wound up with a nearly identical global gross as Fincher’s 2011 remake of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. But Social Network cost $40 million, while Tattoo cost a whopping $90 million, and barely grossed $100 million domestically. As EW recently noted, no Girl sequel is forthcoming in 2013.

A Sony spokesman declined to comment on the studio’s hunt for a Cleopatra director, and calls placed to Fincher’s attorney and Lee's agency were not returned at deadline.

In related news, just two weeks ago, NBC gave a “put pilot” commitment – that is, a promise to shoot and not just develop a pilot – for a fantastical update of the Cleopatra tale from Transformers producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura and North Country screenwriter Michael Seitzman. In their TV version, actual history – the queen's love triangle involving Julius Caesar and Mark Antony – collides with more fantastical elements involving Egyptian gods and monsters.
    http://www.vulture.com/2012/08/david...witter_vulture

Methinks Vulture is employing a bit of exaggeration here. I don't think Fincher has a rift with Amy Pascal et al. Possibly, Rudin yes. Rudin is known for his temper in the biz and Fincher has a rep for being "difficult" (i.e. he doesn't kiss a-s-s), its not surprising they'll clash. But I doubt the rift with Sony execs that would cause Fincher to drop Cleo and vice versa. Fincher's got tons of projects lined up. Its probably a case of scheduling conflicts.

Looks like Zee is the apple of Grandpa Jon's eyes.

Jon Voight has learned his lesson. He doesn't blab about his daughter's and her family's business. Testament that they are in a right place right now, as far as father-daughter relationship goes. I'm happy for both Angie and her father.

Angelina Jolie's father Jon Voight on his 6 grandkids: 'Each is so different'
    Gina DiFalco
    8/23/2012

There was once a time when Angelina Jolie was estranged from her father, Jon Voight, but the two have since mended fences and have a good relationship.

In a recent interview with ET Canada, Voight explains the relationship he has with his six grandchildren, whom his daughter either had biologically with fiancé Brad Pitt, or adopted from various countries.

The Jolie-Pitt clan consists of Maddox, Zahara, Shiloh, Pax, and twins Knox and Vivienne.

Of the Ethiopian-born Zahara, 7, Voight says “When I play with her, she teases me and she laughs at me and she screams and then she laughs. She cracks herself up.”

He continued of Zahara "She seemed to know that she's been saved. When they first found her she was almost not alive and then one day she started smiling and she hasn't stopped smiling!”

But Voight doesn’t favor any of the kids. In fact, he embraces their uniqueness, The Huffington Post reports.

"I'm thinking about each child and how each is so different, one from the other, and how much fun I have with each of them," he said. "When I see them I try to spend special time with each of them."
