With Barako Bull deciding to stay on leave, the Commissioner’s Office kept the original tournament format where the nine competing teams figure in a short one round robin elimination phase with only the top six advancing to the semifinal round.

The semis is another single round affair with the six qualifiers carrying over their elims win-loss marks.

A team which wins four of five games in the semis gets an outright playoff shot at the second finals berth, regardless of its overall record.

If no team gets the special incentive, the top two automatically advance to the best-of-seven Finals. (SB)
