Mariano goes off for 26/10! Teng and Bautista were thrown out though. I didn't watch live so I can't tell why, but word around the internet is UP's Wierzba elbowed Teng, and both got ejected. I don't know why Tata got thrown out as well. Hopefully, both will be allowed to play in the quarterfinals.

Kapag talo, maraming napapadaan. Bakit kaya?![]()
Ahhh, tinitingnan kung bakit natalo hehe

MANILA, Philippines – Aljon Mariano exploded for 26 points while Jeric Fortuna sparked a run in the payoff period as University of Santo Tomas bested University of the Philippines, 77-70 in the Filoil Flying V Pre-Season Cup Saturday at the Arena in San Juan.
Mariano, who also plucked 10 rebounds, has emerged as the Tigers’ new go-to-guy returning from a one-year absence, but it was Fortuna who stretched the gap, 60-53, with three straight buckets.
Sophomore Kevin Ferrer also had significant contributions, knocking down a crucial trey, to finish with 12 points.
UST, with its fifth win with just three losses, clinched a spot in the quarterfinals, which starts on Wednesday, and is set to face either National University of San Sebastian.
Despite being outscored in the third quarter, the Tigers maintained their distance from the Maroons – owing to a huge advantage on the boards, 47-26.
UP, which concluded its campaign in the Pre-Season Cup with a dismal 1-7 record, tried to make a run but still came up short towards the end.
Mike Silungan finished with 18 points and five rebounds for the Maroons.
I was there. Since the beginning of the game, napapansin na ng mga mommies sa likod ko (UP supporter) na may commotion na nagaganap between the two. Wierzba taunts Teng.
Before 2nd qtr ends, yun na. Si Tata from the bench, pumasok siya sa playing court ng pasugod (I don't know if he's ready to fight ba or para pigilan yung dalawa) pero may humila sa kanya agad palayo. Ginitnaan silang dalawa ni Montecastro ng UP agad to stop kung anuman ang mangyari.
Natahimik lahat ng tao sa crowd kasi the officials requested YJ and the UP drummers to stop cheering muna. GO HOME!" And yes, she's Jeric Teng's mother. She's screaming on top of her lungs.
So thrown out si Teng, Wierzba, Montecastro and Tata. I'm just hoping na sana hindi naman suspended si Jeric Teng sa next game natin against NU.
Anyway, just to clear things out, Jeric Teng is not on his fighting stance. His mom is. and I love her for that! HAHAHA! inTENGsity it is.![]()

That Wierzba has gotten on a lot of people's nerves. Gab Banal of Mapua even called him k*pal on Twittter
NU is a very strong team. The Tigers need to play their "A" game in order to defeat the Bulldogs. I'll be watching this game live.
Good news for Tigers!
Looks like JT's sick though
https://twitter.com/jericteng16/stat...71054821261312Vomited, no energy and warm eyes. #sick
Hopefully he recovers by tomorrow and has his own version of the "Flu game"
Anyone who's going to watch tomorrow? Wala akong kasama e. Wanna meet up? Send me a PM.
77-68. NU
I haven't watched it, text lang sakin.Sa mga nakanuod, BALITA po!

I just saw this post. Sorry bout that.
We were leading after the 1st quarter, 25-15. The first 7 minutes of this game was probably the best stretch I've seen our team play during the entire tournament. Kim Lo played Parks well and our defense was spectacular. On the offensive end, we were able to score a lot of points inside and on the break.
KF sprained his ankle in the 1st quarter, just as he was starting to heat up. He came back in the game, but Pido limited his minutes to prevent the injury from getting worse. It was the right move IMO.
We switched to a 2 PG lineup, with both Jeric Fortuna and Tata on the floor. It surprisingly worked as Tata got inside Parks' head and frustrated him.
Bautista's contributions on the defensive end were cancelled out by his play on offense. He and Jeric Teng shot us out of the lead. I'm wondering why Pido didn't give their minutes to Kim Lo or Louie Vigil, who played well in his limited minutes.
Tigers, ready?
