What's wrong with frame recycling anyway? Do you have any idea what animation cels cost then? Lemme give you a hint: there are no more places manufacturing cels today. So right when the 90's animes were being drawn, Disney resorted to CG animation and more traditional animation studios had to suck it up and tighten their belts.

I’m sure, the person who made this thread knows that the “real deal” anime is Rurouni Kenshin that’s why he compared it to Dragon Ball Z (even though it seems that there’s no point of comparison between the two). I can’t believe that Dragon Ball Z fans could be so stubborn na nag-iilusyon pa silang mas OK ang Dragon Ball Z sa RK. Hello? OK lang kayo? Ni sa panaginip eh hindi mangyayari yon eh.
The only point of argument that the Dragon Ball Z fans can use is the fight scenes. Yun na nga lang ang analogy na magagamit niyo, tapos, bano pa yung fight scenes ng DBZ (although I consider its fight scenes to be slightly better by RK, but that’s by virtue of the length of fight scenes, and the way it violates laws of physics, and definitely not by its quality). Pinapahaba lang nila yung fight scenes para magmukhang OK. It’s like 50% of the fight scenes in DBZ are just plalakasan ng “energy wave”. And 25% of it is just up close fast multi punches and kicks that are obviously just repetitious animation.
Doon nga sa isang message board na tinatambayan ko eh (www.shoryuken.com/forums. A Street Fighter discussion forum which is obviously less biased than this thread) pinagtatawanan lang namin yung mga die-hard Dragon Ball Z fans (like what I’m doing right now reading some of the replies in this thread).
Majority kasi ng mga DBZ fans here are just kids from the mid nineties (time when DBZ made it debut in the Philippines) who have no high level of standards in choosing anime. Dragon Ball Z attained its success thru loads of hype. The second factor could be that it was the first of it’s genre (the first that showed excessive, often ridiculous, fight scenes). And up to now, a lot of DBZ fans are still kids. Because more mature anime fans don’t dig that show.
While Rurouni Kenshin attained a high level of success without any much hype here in the Philippines. And obviously, a lot of its fans are more mature (agewise and mentally) and have better taste.
O ano mga DBZ fans? Do I need to make an in your face statement about how horrible the story of DBZ? How about its non-evolving artwork? Do I need to even go there, or do I need to stop my insults muna?

HAHAHAHA, Halatang napakabulok ang samx. Even the story stinks! HAHA feng shui daw. Korny, stinks worse than a skunk. Talong talo and samx sa beast wars, dbz pa kaya! The characters sound like a bunch of white belters pretending to be blackbelters. Pero halata paring nangbobola lang sila. Parang sa yo!. Scenery lang maganda so samx. Tapos some catchy music na madali matandan .Yun na ! Bulok na ang iba! The characters look like they were drawn by some animator stricken with the bubonic plague. All that money sony put into that piece of junk. I watched the entire series waiting for some good action, boy was i disappointed. Samx fights look like they were put there just for the sake of it. Samx obviously caters to those who place more importance to style rather than substance. You people stick to your style. We dbz fans will stick to the superior substance of DBZ .

Samurai X is a cartoon that put too much emphasis on the dramatic aspect , plot and the character personalities . The fighting aspect was very neglected. You could remove the fighting and some people might still like it.
