No wonder they are singing "Are you Arsenal in disguise?"

I remember the last time Spurs fans actually celebrated like this was back when they defeated Hearts 5-0. The chant back then was "Are you West Ham in disguise?".. Heh.

Spirits are high as we take on Stoke in the Carling Cup and then Wigan up next, as we avenge the humiliating loss last year after scoring 8 against them the year before that.

If spurs want to make it back to Champion's League, King's gotta stay healthy. By far one of the best defenders in the league when healthy. No surprise that spurs haven't conceded, since he returned this season.

No arguments there, he's more complete than Terry in defense with his speed and arguably on par with Ferdinand when it comes to positioning sense and defensive anticipation. But, his knees are soft as sh*t, and as the saying goes he's made of glass. Too bad though as he could really be the difference for Spurs.

Glass defender indeed. His presence alone commands discipline among the Spurs back 4 and even the holding midfielders. When "in chaos" instead of passing it back to the GK for a "goal kick", it is passed back to King instead to dictate the offense. Once healthy, he can make a 'Torres' invisible in the game.

yeah, those 2 clean sheets shows it, i just hope he will be healthy throughout the season. him and dawson will be one heck of a defense. spurs season has officially started after that manchester losses, i see better days ahead. now, one game at a time lads.

that game almost gave me a heart attack. nice to wake up in a monday morning with that win. i hope vdv should really think about being fully healed before playing in another game, saw him limping last night, cause if he keeps doing this then i can see him playing three games max till he injures himself again. special mention to walker, that strike was a cracker to say the least. we'll keep marching,COYS!!

He's lost one cartilage to one of his knees, the reason behind his "injurability".

How about Scott Parker, what a signing! I gotta admit that I had reservation about him before his first game, but he's definitely proved me wrong.

I'm looking forward to more games with Sandro and Parker playing together, along with modric bale and vdv, and that could arguably be the best midfield in the league.

In all honesty, I never expected Parker to play this well at this early stage of his career with Spurs. We know he's a good player in West Ham but not at this point. Probably because he lacks support in West Ham? Anyway, Sandro/Huddlestone with Parker would be a beast of a midfield.

Even if vdVaart is my favorite player, I think what Harry did in the last game is the best move for all parties. Start with him, then replace him later with Sandro/Huddlestone (when healthy) so Modric can move even higher up the pitch. Defoe and Adebayor looks good for now, but if Defoe settles for shots from outside the box frantically, he'll have to be relegated to the bench again to have space for more midfielders.

I admire the 4-5-1 formation, but not against 4-4-2 if Defoe is on Wigan-form 2 years ago.

VDV: "You're playing me out of position!"
    Harry: "Yep."
VDV: "But against Arsenal, I was chasing a fullback!"
    Harry: "Did we win?"
    VDV: (looks down) "Well, yeah..."
    Harry: "Then shut up."

when will he ever think about whats best for the team. i feel bad for arry having to deal with this, we are on a roll,so cut this ********* and stop being a primma dona. first the europa comments, then this, what's wrong with vdv this past few days, geeez..

I think he's kinda frustrated that he's not playing 90 min and not at his position, which is currently occupied by Defoe's. I remember his frustration also when he couldn't play the full 90 min while he was still in Madrid, as well as for Holland. Since Lennon ONLY has pace, I guess that's the correct position for him as of the moment. He's just 27~28, he should train really hard to get that work rate up so he can chase them full backs. If you remember, he's the one who let the Arsenal player (whoever that is) fly into the box and send a low cross to Ramsey (was he the goalscorer?) for the equalizer. I'd experiment with this:

I remember vdV playing behind two strikers before - it wasn't beautiful. But hey, who knows. Maybe one league cup game...

And to add to that, he was playing the occasional Right Midfield in Hamburg before. I'm very disappointed that he chose to speak of his frustations nowadays. He is my all time favorite player, even right after leaving Ajax. It's a shame.

i was also thinking about this formation, it will surely work. but the way things are going, ar will probably stick to the 4-4-2 formation since we are getting the w. anyway, i hope this problem will be resolved asap,i dont want any drama anymore ala modric saga.

The game can be summarized in a word - UGLY. Oh my goodness, were they out of sorts out there?! Defoe should leave from that dreamland of his, shooting from every sight of goal, and everybody's rushing to score like there's no tomorrow! It's like the Miami Heat playing - haven't you lads got teammates too? Ughh, I wish haven't watched the game. 2-2 is a fair score in Tyneside - but now that I did watch it, I'm wondering how we beat Liverpool by four goals weeks ago.

And injuries are not helping - Kranjcar, Huddlestone, Sandro, Dawson, King, Corluka, and Walker has taken a knock.. vdVaart has been subbed after an hour so yeah, we'll be hearing some words from him sooner rather than later... And Modric/Bale, my word... I.. uh.. Damn, I'm out of words.. Next fixture please ASAP
