Guys, eto na ang part 1.

    BUDGET MULTI-FUNCTION LIVING ROOM SET

    4-Sectional L-shaped Sofa-cum-2 Sofa Beds
    Coffee Table-2 Benches-Foot Rests-Storage

    Basic PineWood

    With Cushions

Seat Cushions are Permahard Foams from Uratex Sucat Warehouse (with discounts)
Back Cushions are Fiberfill from Dagupan Street, Divisoria at PHP90 per kilo. These 9 back cushions used about 15 kilos of fiberfill. Cream-colored Upholstery Fabric are from Ylaya Street bangketa, Divisoria at PHP70/yard 60-in width. I used about 11 yards.

    Bench - Half Coffee Table

2-Sectional Coffee Table are separated. One is acting as bench, the other as half coffee table. These are also storage. See the modern-looking picture frames inside? Those are buy 1-take 1 from SM Makati a few weeks ago. Cheaper than Divisoria. And of higher quality.

    With Throw Pillows

From Landmark Department Store Makati at PHP35.75-49.75 each.

Considering no sewing background here (Self taught lang dahil naghinayang sa itatapon na sewing machine at "echo-derecho" or straight stitch lang ang alam), I would give myself a passing mark here.

This is my Budget Multifunction Living Room Set that does not look cheap.

    Next time na yung iba.

Thanks, bro. Ganun din naisip ko. "Anggara!"

Pero the owners gave me a very nice price for the whole package ng furniture ko sa bahay.

The rest nang nasa pics are DIY na. Kanina ko lang natapos ang cushioned seats.

Hehe. Parang di na nga sya interim eh. Parang pwede nang pang matagalan.

Yep. Neat looking. I go for the safe colors. Next time naman ang mga accent pieces that would give LIFE to the space. Kapag may pera. Or kapag may time, DIY ulit.

See my Living Room's accent wall? The frameless multi-panel artwork are still in my to-do list.

Sobrang busy lang kasi sa work and other stuff, kaya parang retail ang DIY tasks ko.

Ngapala, nakita mo yung drapery/curtains? Ceiling-to-floor yan. Fabric from Ylaya, Divi din. PHP35 per yard 60-in width. The outer panels are in khaki, while the inner panels are cream colored.

The curtain rods are stainless steel pipes from Tomas Mapua-Soler-T Alonzo Streets, Manila. Cut to size. PHP350 per 20 feet or 8 meters, 3/4-in diameter, 1.2-mm thickness.

Curtain rod holders are from the same area. PHP16 each.

    Eto naman ang Part 2....

    BUDGET DINING ROOM SET-cum-BILLIARDS TABLE

Ako na maglalagay ng tapete at banda. DIY na lang .... in a few months. Kapag di na busy.

    At ang Part 3....

The BEDS with 6 legs each

The headboards are detachable. I could replace them with modern looking upholstered headboards in the future.

    Kid's Bed

Customized to the width of the room. Bed is 36in x 72in. The detachable headboard would no longer fit in the space.

Superman Bedsheet-Blanket-Curtain Fabric are from Ylaya St, Divisoria. Superman Pillow cases are from Alabang South Station.

    Day Bed

Single-sized Bed in the ground floor Guest Room-Entertainment Room- Videoke Room-Utility Room becomes a Day Bed by accident. Cabinet Door by the foot of the bed could not be opened fully with the headboard. Combining this headboard with the unused headboard from the Superman Room, creates a Day Bed.

I just need to make new and nice looking bed cover. And some more side pillows.

    King-Sized Bed (72in x 75in)

These are actually 2 pieces of single-sized beds (36in x 75in). Hence the big bed has 12 legs now.

I removed the bed mattress and linens for privacy reasons. Too much information

By the way, each 6-legged single bed with detachable headboard only costs PHP1,800.

Part 4 iyong 3-1-1-Center Table-Side Table Sala set, which is similar to the sectional L-shaped Sofa. I am still making the cushions. Next time naman ito.

Lahat ng iyan ay wala pang PHP28,000. Nice price, di ba?

Hi sir Neo, can you PM me your contact in Muntinlupa?

Is that P350 grade 202? I was quoted P640 for 3/4" x 1.2 mm x 20 ft at Soler Metalcraft on Soler St. Not sure what grade but IIRC, at 3/4" diameter, they had only one grade and I think it was 304.

Don't know how their prices compare with other stores in the area. Got the impression that they are all pretty much the same, but I could be wrong?

What finishing was used on the palochina?

    Thanks, grace.

Baka madulas. Pero madali nga lang linisin.

Wood joints, Stickwel wood glue, pako. Sa bilyaran may screws sa frame.

If they're gonna use dowels, it would be more expensive.

I've been using reclaimed palochina for so many years in minor projects. Pako at glue lang ang gamit ko. Ok naman sya. Basta reinforced lang nang mabuti and treated.

One of the first projects na ginawa ko when i was younger using mainly palochina, was a rocking horse. The kid is now an adult. And other kids have used it as well. The horse is still rocking.... err.... standing. I am planning to restore it and bring it to my new house as a conversational piece in the front balcony.

Salespeople usually used "low grade" for SS202 and "high grade" for SS304.

Mine is just SS202. Pang curtain rods lang naman eh. Ok na sya sakin.

Prices for the same SS pipe usually varies by +/- PHP20.

The finish was just natural finish. I was aiming for the rustic look for the first year or two. After that, I'd just use a darker finish.

I didn't like the quality sa mga palochina shops sa Muntinlupa. Sa Canlalay, Laguna ako nagpagawa.

Pwede naman double deck. Basta single size or 36in width maximum. And be sure na yung makakapal na kahoy ang gagamitin at ang design mo ay with reinforcements talaga. Palochina kasi is soft wood.

If you'd notice in my designs as I've described in the earlier pages of this thread of my palochina plans, may reinforcements talaga (e.g., 6 legs for a bed).

    Thanks, ilove323.

I can't find my receipt. But if I remember correctly....

Each single-sized bed costs PHP1,800 with 1 detachable headboard.

6-seater Dining Set is PHP5,500 yata. And considering the degree of difficulty, mas mahal. PHP8,000 yata.

Coffee Table is PHP2,000 yata. PHP1,000 each half table.

L-shaped Sofa Beds is PHP6,000 yata (or PHP1,500 for each section)

3-1-1-CT-ST Sala Set is PHP4,500 yata.

    TV Rack/Stand is PHP3,500 yata.

Meron ditong mga threads about Tiles. You can ask there or even backread the threads.

Depende din kasi sa budget yan.

Sa stairs (treads and risers), mas maganda siguro sanyo ang wood planks. Usually Tanguile ang most affordable.

Remember yung Oakwood B Dressed Up unit?

Less maintenance than the ordinary vinyl tiles.

    Last part.....

    3-1-1-Center Table-Side Table Sala Set

For the roofed front balcony. I just need to make this a bit weather-proof.

I am currently making the outdoor cushions and back rest, and the waterproof covers for the set.

    TV Stand/Cabinet

Not very happy with the execution though. I was aiming for thicker planks.

Finish is just natural for more rustic looking furniture. I still have to apply Polyurethane though. Will just go for a darker finish after a year or two.

  17. #77
@Don Neo, musta? nice mga posts mo pix ah.

by the way, would you know how much ang double decker bed na palochina? yun sana naisip kong ipa-sadya for the maid's room, yung bed namin ngayon palochina din, so far matibay naman eh.

Malabon?

Kaya balak ko, ako na lang mag-dark finish after a few years.

Hala! Ikaw kaya ang Donya! Angganda ng bathrooms mo eh. Pang Forbes Park ang dating!

Halos lahat ng shops may double deck bed. Ang importante ang iyong gagamiting kahot at pagkabit nito. Dapat makapal ang mga poste.

Iyong pinagpagawaan ko, gumagamit pa sila ng nuts and bolts for double deck beds, para i-aassemble na lang sa house ng buyer. At pwede ding kalasin kung kakailanganin.
