After weeks of postponing, I finally got around to getting my very first Android phone, the HTC Desire S. After 3 hours of playing around with it, mejo nagsawa na ako.

BTW, the phone doesn't recognize the adhoc wifi connection from my laptop (the iPhone 3GS does). I've tried googling and it looks like I would need to root-canal my phone, whatever that means.

how much did you bought it for?

i think you need to root your phone. but i don't understand why if it's just connecting to wifi

if I am not mistaken, HTC talaga. Just like any other brands na meron store/boutique sa mall.

I tried it. Pero wala pa din. Pag inaactivate ko yung mobile network, sabi incorrect daw yung APN settings.

have you tried this setting?

me and my bf is using an HTC HD2 which we converted to android.. we're satisfied we just have to bring extra charger and battery because we're On-line 24/7.. and we converted a lot of iphone users to HTC.. no we're planning to upgrade to DESIRE HD.. if only EVO and INCREDIBLE is not sim free...

Meron akong nakitang HTC device sa isang cellphone shop sa megamall. Kakaiba yung hitsura. yung laman ng screen is mga squares na green tapos merong rectangle na parang weather widget. Anyone knows its name?

yeah yan nga! So HTC Windows Phone 7 pala to! But it's called HD7... Parang ang astig naman! Mabalikan nga at malaman ang price. It does look so different.

I didn't want to get the Desire HD because of battery life concerns. I want to be able to have a full day's worth of mobile phone battery juice. Ang nabasa ko kasing mga comments sa Desire HD is that it would barely last 8 hours.

A family friend of ours bought the Desire HD, what he does is turn the unit off most of the time and turn it on from time to time to conserve battery life.

Ganoon din ba Desire Z ? Nice that it has qwerty keypad I'm just a little worried with battery life. How long does the Desire S battery lasts? What if we keep wifi and 3g turned off most the time I guess that would extend battery life a little.

I have the exact same thoughts on the desire HD. I was planning to get an HTC android -- and now I have my eyes on the desire S.
