There were a lot of negative feedback about transferring. Pero talagang kailangan na. SBC college student population were increasing simula ng maging CO-Ed.

Anyway, High hope for the Institution's improvement.

    Namiss ko naman ang Intramuros.

    ^^

Hehehe. Thanks for that. Yes, I remember nga dati, i have a cousin who is a SBC-HS graduate at sa SBC din nag College, galit na galit siya nun nung nalaman niyang ililipat na ang department nila sa Taytay. hehehe. Napakalayo daw eh. Pero mukhang hindi naman.
Even the Alumni also give such reactions.

After a few years eh magiging steady na din.

Although you can expect your HS team to suffer kapag sobrang layo. For a few years, humina ang Red Cubs simula nung paglipat.

Glad to hear those plans to improve our colegio. As long as the incoming rector is not a "UST Centric" dominican father, wala tayong problema diyan. At please lang maging open minded na sila sa mga new marketing strategy in terms getting alot of corporate sponsors or donations para makilala ulit ang letran sa buong Pilipinas. "Example na yung naunsyameng adidas jacket" na kaya hindi tinanggap ng letran kasi dapat my kita din letran para maibigay "DAW" sa mga adopted communities. eh hindi nila inisip na anlaking papasok na investments sa kanila na seeing letran is a good school and a brand and its worth of investing money.

Parks lifts NU past UST in pre-season caging
    04/13/2011 | 06:51 PM
    Source: gmanews.tv

National University (NU) rookie Bobby Ray Parks scored 17 points to lead the Bulldogs to a 60-52 win over University of Santo Tomas (UST) on Wednesday in the Fil-Oil Flying V Preseason Premier Cup at The Arena in San Juan City.

Parks, the son of many-time PBA Best Import winner Bobby, was the lone Bulldog to finish with double digits in scoring. He also had seven rebounds, three assists and two blocks as he provided the Sampaloc-based team enough of a cushion throughout.

But NU still needed to toughen up its defense late in the game, before leaning on a 7-0 closing spurt to seal the win.

After UST rookie Kevin Ferrer made two free throws to put the Tigers within one (52-53),NU's Denice Villamor, Jul-Ashri Ignacio and Angelo Alolino buried crucial baskets down the stretch to keep the Bulldogs out of harm's way.

Joel Betayene's split of his free throws in the 36.6-second mark set the final count.

"This will be the story of the team this year, it will be all about thriving on making stops and doing it on defense, because we are not a talented offensive team," said NU coach Eric Altamirano.

Altamirano also praised Parks' efforts despite the rookie's obviously ongoing adjustment to the Filipino brand of play. "He is still trying to learn the Filipino style but he really has a great attitude," the Bulldogs' coach said.

UST’s Cameroonian import Karim Abdul had 13 points and grabbed a game-high 23 rebounds, while Carmelo Afuang added 10 markers.

Meanwhile, San Beda bounced back from a 90-87 opening-game loss to Ateneo as the Red Lions cruised to an 88-74 win over the Arellano University Chiefs.

Ola Adeogun finished with 21 points while Rome Dela Rosa and Garvo Lanete tallied 15 markers each for the Red Lions.

Kevin Alas scored 23 points, pouring in nine in a 10-2 finish as the Knights beat Emilio Aguinaldo College, 66-54.

In the juniors division, Letran beat San Sebastian, 88-64, while NU trounced the Philippine Under-13 team, 103-44

There is a great chance that Fr. Lana will be retained as the rector. If ever that happens, I expect the Colegio to really make its mark academically in the next few years. The future looks bright, I just hope he can grow a heart of a "True-Blooded Letranite".

dysam was at the arena yesterday, but not in uniform, even almazan, both are in civilian outfit.

trivia: during the 70s and 80s dati that was the school canteen, pero nung mga spanish era,20s,30s,40s and 50s tawag daw dati dun "Hall of Knights" dun daw ginagawa ang alumni homecoming yung mga ceremony ng knighthood dun ginagawa, nakadisplay mga sikat nating alumnus and mga trophies natin kaya pansin niyo yung itsura parang chapel, dun daw ginagawa knights gathering parang freemason gatherings. hahaha

Confirmed na si Fr. Lana na ulit ang Rector natin sa Letran... muli aking ipakikiusap na sana bigayan nya ng pansin ang problema sa Sports natin in terms of recruitment pagaalaga ng players...salamat.

i was able to catch the tail end of the squires vs staglets game, i was amazed by the big winning margin, and the amid the height advantage of staglets, yet they falter against a smaller squires, congrats great job

Almost, if not, all schools have limited support for their sports program. It's up to the athletics staff to reach out to the alumni.

It's up to the athletics staff if they can rise up to the challenge na panatilihin ang mga players. Same as recruitment (Ang laki-laki kaya ng Pinas. Bakit di sapat ang budget? Sus. Besides, they're students first. Di tayo naghahanap ng full-time athlete.

    ^^

Really? Si Fr. Lana ulit? i think no. HEHEHEHE. Fr. Nap is on the position for being the Acting Rector. Sa June pa ang Investiture ng Bagong Rector.
