Hello brothers, I attended yesterday's academic convocation. Eto yung report ni Fr. Lana sa lahat ng mga projects na napa implement niya sa nakalipas na apat na taon niyang pamumuno.

Halos maganda naman lahat ng mga nagawa ni Fr. Lana, lalong lalo na in terms of academics na sinabi niya rin na talagang isa sa mga pinagtuunan niya ng pansin. He added new courses like AB Legma na nag start na last year pa. BS Food Tech and BS Nutri/Dietetics which will start this coming June.

He also said yesterday na isa sa mga accomplishments ng Library and Media Center is to Acquire E - Books from Singapore na kinonfirm naman ni Fr. Boyd. Nice one indeed!

He made and approved the zero based grading system with the inception of Fr. Ponce.

He also said about the Letran's Physical Development plan natatakbo mula 2009 - 2015 and these projects will be the ff :

1. St. Vincent ( Elem Bldg ) will be renovated tapos pagsasamahin na yung mga HS and Elem students sa iisang building.
2. St. Raymund (HS Bldg ) will be converted into College of Engineering and Institute of IT.
3. St. Antoninus or AO Bldg will be demolished!!! tapos gagawing Quadricentennial Park! ( hindi ba mas maganda kung i demolish nila at gawing bagong building??? ) hehehehe.
4. Bl. Antonio Varona Gym ( Letran Gym ) will be renovated at lalagyan ng soccer field sa may itaas.

Lahat daw ng yan ay magagawa within 2009-2015. Pero 2011 na at wala pa ata akong nakikitang groundbreaking ceremony? hehehe.

By next year or next next year rin sabi ni Father, Engineering will be offered in Letran na.

Really??? hehehehe. Ang bilis naman! ang alam ko one month ang process bago magkaroon ng bagong Rector.


Paano ba ang pagpili ng Rector sa Letran? Board of Trustees at Dominican Province of the Philippines ang boboto or Board of Trustees lang natin??

I also heard rumors that Fr. Lana will extend his term for another 4 or 6 years.

May mga nagsasabi naman na hindi na siya...

Among the 5 candidates for the next Rector and President, walang taga St. John Lateran Convent ang kasama..so it means na hindi magiging Rector si Fr. Nap / Fr. Ponce.. HAHAHA.

At kahit na makasama sila, hindi talaga sila magiging Rector because they have issues yata. I don't know if that's true!!

Another came from Sto. Domingo, UST and Aquinas University.

Actually maraming lumalabas na issue ngayon about sa pagpapalit ng administration or kung magpapalit ba, ngayon ang balita sa akin wala pang nangyayaring election kahapon may isa naman nagsabi na nagkaroon ng election kahapon at si Fr. Lana daw ulit ang nanalo. About kay Fr. Lao parang wala pa akong issue na naririnig na lumaban sya for rector ang at ang alam ko rin wala lumaban na pari na nasa letran ngayon.

Im not against to Fr. Lana actually talagang napahanga ako sa ganda ng academics natin ngayon kaya lang may mga traditions tayo na para naiiba na sa kadahilanan sinasabi saka ng marami na hindi pa rin nya makalimutan ang UST.

Sana may mareport din si fr.lana tungkol sa sports program natin kung anu ba ang adhikain nya sa lahat ng sports team natin.

Sana rin kung sya ulit ang manunungkulan bilang rector sana matuloy ang lahat ng plano nya at maging isang tunay na DUGONG ARRIBA na sya.

Kaso parang ang sikip na ata sa Letran.

Kasi, I remember sa SBC. During the expansion of courses (CAS, MED, Graduate School, etc), unit-unti na nilang nilipat ang Elemntary and High School sa SBC Tanay, Rizal.

There were a lot of negative feedback about transferring. Pero talagang kailangan na. SBC college student population were increasing simula ng maging CO-Ed.

Anyway, High hope for the Institution's improvement.

Namiss ko naman ang Intramuros.
