Follow up question, bakit nga ba lumaki ang utang natin?

Ito sabi ni Franklin D. Roosevelt sa kanyang 1935 State of the Union message:

The lessons of history, confirmed by evidence immediately before me, show conclusively that continued dependence on relief induces a spiritual and moral disintegration fundamentally destructive to the national fiber. To dole out relief in this way is to administer a narcotic, a subtle destroyer of the human spirit. It is inimical to the dictates of sound policy. It is a violation of the traditions of America.
We are a WELFARE society kasi. We believe that any help is good.

Pinapalaki ng magulang ang kanilang anak thinking that they are born to be their money machines.

This is why we should always ACT with MORAL RESPONSIBILITY.

"A blind compassion may be admirable but a knowledgeable compassion is twice blessed."

Give INCENTIVE for people to work hard. Hindi yung bigyan sila ng pera for not working towards being independent.

    1. Corrupt ang mga govt. officials
    2. Overpopulated ang bansa
    3. Business laws were designed to protect only the welfare of the few rich businessmen and their relatives in politics, kaya walang nagiinvest na foreigner sa bansa, kulang sa trabaho, and yung dating mayayaman lang ang patuloy na yumayaman.

LOL, FDR, when he and his party signed The New Deal, Social Security, and funded the big government Keynesian approach to getting rid of the Great Depression.

And no the Philippines is not a welfare state politically, legally. The 'patronage' system's (also known as graft and corruption---I take care of you you take care of me---or KURAKOT for short) illegal trickle down effect is a de facto, not a de jure condition. The Philippines' social dependency comes from its' Asiatic cultural and Catholic religious roots.

Filipinos are neither lazy nor stupid. Look how hard they work overseas. It's that they're raised that way culturally. In country however it's somewhat acceptable and encouragde to leech off family members, that's how families are bonded----which in turn is the same way with the corrupt old patronage system work; where people are loyal to one another, and people 'overlook' certain procedural errors in the system because they're 'filial' and 'family' (either biologically or cultural ties). That's why a lot of Pinoys are still living in mommies' basement.

Joke: Bakit mahirap ang PI? Hindi kase hindi madale. Corny. LOL.

a country is never poor as long as there is production and consumption of both goods and service. what you have is comparable volume of goods and services generated and consumed with other countries.

maybe you mean lots of poor people. well, a poor person can be defined as one incapable of obtaining basic necessities for himself and the philippines has lots of those.

but the philippines also has lots of billionaires (in peso terms at least.)

    1. Mataas na bilihin at iba pa..
