NAgpunta nga ako, nag-fill up ng form.

NApangiti sya.

Weeeew! Buti na lang at sakto ako sa boarding time. =)

  5. #85
What's wrong with bringing a TOR and a diploma on a flight?

Unless you bring them in volumes and are obviously made in Recto, IOs won't prevent you from boarding your flight because you brought these.

Besides, the Xray machine will just see them as just plain paper.

  6. #86

Kaya mas magandang gawin eh isama mo sa check-in baggage mo ang TOR and Diploma mo.

    HTH.

Well, that depends on the purpose of her trip. But kung vacation, tourist lang, passport w/ US visa, return flight ticket lang naman hinihingi. However, kapag napagdudahan ka ng IO sa pinas, they might ask for your employee ID, certificate of employment, so better bring them just in case.

    Currency Regulations

It is illegal for any incoming or outgoing passenger to bring in or out Philippine Pesos in excess of P10,000.00 without prior authoirty from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas. Any violation of this rule may lead to its seizure and civil penalties and / or criminal prosecution. (BSP Circular 98-1995)

The transportation of foreign currency or monetary instruments is legal. However, the carrying of foreign currency in excess of US$10,000.00 or its equivalent in other foreign currencies must be declared to a Customs Officer or the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas. VIolation of this rule may lead to seizure and sanctions, fines and / or penalties.

    -------
Does this mean I can bring in/out of the country 10,000pesos and $10,000 in combination?

  15. #95
    ^^^

Yes, because if not then you can't transport USD 10K since that exceeds P10K if converted.

just bringing enough money to pay for rent and utilities. hehe will be studying abroad kasi. it costs around 600pesos to send 10k and below (western union) and bank wire transfers costs at least 500pesos plus charges depending on how much will be sent... & you even have to convert it to dollars (loses in exchange rate) to avoid the cost of 0.30cents per 200/pesos in documentary stamps if sending in peso w/c will cost you much higher. just wanted to avoid the unnecessary charges as much as possible, initially.

thanks! gee... never thought of it that way. i'm just wary of the immigration officer, so i can stress these regulations. you know how they bend these regulations for their own benefit especially if they chance upon ignorant passengers.

literally you will lose arms and legs before you board ur plane in NAIA or while in NAIA hahaha. you can afford to study abroad but cannot afford western union? how about ATM? malakas ang piso ngayon, bakit di mo samantalahin? next time pag ipunan mo ng husto pag aural mo baka sa student insurance at board and lodging pa lang mamulubi ka kung wester union e di mo afford.

think about AMLA. ur destination country also have rules about money laundering.

for me i remit which cost me $6 per transaction, mababa pa sa black market.
