    Beijing, China, February 16, 2011 – The drawing of lots for 2011 AVC Men’s and Women’s Club Volleyball Championships was held under the guardiance of AVC Sport Events Council Chairman Mr. Shanrit Wongprasert here on Wednesday.

    Because the national leagues of all the participating countries are still going on, the drawing of lots was conducted under the names of the countries.

    A total of 12 teams are to take part in the Men’s Club tournament scheduled to be held from July 23 to 31 in Palembang, South Sumatera of Indonesia The participating teams are drawn into two pools with the host Indonesia playing against Japan, China, Uzbekistan, Vietnam and Afghanistan in Pool A while Iran, the defending champion will meet strong challenges from Qatar, Kazakhstan, Thailand, Myanmar and Turkmenistan in Pool B.

    The Women’s Club Championship draws eight teams and will be held in Vinh Phuc of Vietnam from June 18-26. The teams are also divided into two pools. Host Vietnam, Japan, the Philippines and Iran are grouped in Pool A while Thailand, defending champion, will take on Kazakhstan, Indonesia and China.

    In last edition, Federbrau of Thailand, Thetyssu of Kazakhstan and J.T. Marvelous of Japan finished the top three in the women’s event and Payakan of Iran, Al-Arabi of Qatar and Panasonic Panthers of Japan won the gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.

    magagaling individually yung mga players natin pero kpag pinagsamasama sila para silang ndi magkakakilala. kamusta naman si pau soriano 2nd libero pa ng team RP. anu yun?

    well..ako ineexpect ko na tambak talaga...matagal na magaling ang vietnam mga foreign coaches pa nga yan...habang walang tamang programa at liga sa pinas at walang pondong for international exposures wala mararating tayo..sad to say..but kudos to the philippine team =)

    Philippines lost to Iran in 3 sets. 3rd set's score was 25-9. No floor and net defense, no everything. Those 9 scores probably came from Iran's errors and I am not being ironic about it. Just sayin'. Macatangay got injured.

    MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine volleyball team composed of Shakey’s V-League All-Stars failed to make a
    dent in the 2011 Asian Women's Club
    Volleyball Championships held in Vinh
    Phuc, Vietnamn. The Shakey’s team lost all of their matches in pool play against Thong
    Tin Lien Viet Bank of Vietnam,
    Persepolis Tehran (Iran) and
    Kenshokai RedHearts (Japan). The Shakey’s team went out in 3 straight sets, 12-25, 18-25, 8-15,
    against Vietnam last June 19. Former Adamson University standout
    Cherry Rose Macatangay topscored for
    the team with 8 points. Aiza Maizo and
    Michelle Carolino of the University of
    Sto. Tomas each scored 6 points. The team also lost in straight sets
    against Iran’s Persepolis Tehran last Monday, 13-25, 13-25 and 9-25. Earlier today, the Shakey’s All-Stars suffered their third straight setback
    against Japan, with scores of 16-25,
    18-25 and 13-25. The team was coached by Sinfronio
    Acaylar.

    Susko kahiya naman Team Philippines tsk tsk dapat pagsisipain itong mga coach kasama na ang selection team. Pls. lang wag nyo na ipagsiksikan yang si Macatangay at Salak dahil di talaga sila oobra sa international competition. Team La Salle nalang ipanglaban nyo baka mabigyan pa kayo ng trophy.
