hi. i just found out last week that i passed the gpat. now i'm cramming. sabi kasi after holy week pa yung results eh. so i didnt check. the last time i checked the website was march 16, and nakalagay dun sched ng 2nd gpat exam. any idea if the proficiency test is 1 set lang? or 5 sets for the 5 subjects?

Hello. i am qualified to take the prof test. may few questions lang ako, maraming salamat sa makakasagot. (1) How many are usually admitted after the prof test? (2) Pag nag fail ulet ako sa second retake ng prof test, may chance pa ba na makapasok ako sa UP MBA in the future? (3) If I defer now, pwede ko ba sya ituloy anytime? Thanks!

I think 5 sets, 1 set for each subject. But I'm not sure. Hehe..

For # 3. If you defer now, you can resume it anytime but within a limited period of time. I don't know how long though.

Last year, only 1 passed the Proficiency Test on the first take. My goodness. I bet he is really very intelligent and has prepared for the exam.

I have already resigned myself to the idea that I would take the workshop and shell out 8K for me to pass the Proficiency Test on the 2nd take.

But I'm trying to study Financial Accounting though and hope to pass it as that alone costs 4K for the workshop. Sana nga the rates from last year is still the same for this year.

The Proficiency Exams are free of charge. They are facilitated by UPD CBA-MBA.

Last year, the MBA/MSFIN workshops cost:

1. Financial Accounting = 4k
2. Quantitative Methods = 4k (1k per module)
   
   1. Algebra
   2. Calculus
   3. Mathematics of Finance
   4. Statistics

kinkylee, what do you mean by "you can resume anytime?" does it mean kahit nag-start na 1st sem pwede pa rin magtake ng proficiency test? or wait for next year?

i'm trying to study din and ang hirap tandaan mga formula all at the same time for the different subjects, unless you really know which ones to remember lang. so i think the workshops will be a great help para pumasa.

kapag mayroon kang di napasang subject sa 2nd take, pwede mo pakiusapan na iretake next year. ganun nangyari sa akin, di kasi ako nagworkshop (conflict sa sched) hehehe
iyong sumunod na taon, pinagawa lang ako ng letter (remember conditionally accepted na) tapos niretake ko lang iyong subject/s na binagsak ko.

Sorry for the confusion. You'll wait for the Proficiency Test schedule next year. If you still can't make it next year, then you can take it the year after and so on. Pero they will ask you to make a letter something why you will defer. Basta sabi sa akin there's a maximum year to defer.

Yes, the workshop is a great help to pass the test. I have the books for all the subjects covered in the test and I have read a few pages but the information was already overwhelming I could not remember most.

Sana nga the schedule of the workshop this year will not be a conflict with my work schedule.
