Nina Dobrev Says 'Perks Of Being A Wallflower' Script Is 'Really, Really, Really Amaz

"Vampire Diaries" star Nina Dobrev may be hanging up her leather jacket and Katherine fangs for the summer, but she's not leaving teen angst behind. The 22-year-old actress recently signed on to play high school senior Candace in the big-screen adaptation of Stephen Chbosky's "The Perks of Being a Wallflower," alongside Emma Watson and Logan Lerman. And as you can probably guess, we just had to get the scoop on the production when we sat down to chat with Nina yesterday.

    http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:u...mtv.com:647672

"I get to Pittsburgh next week, and I start filming in about a week-and-a-half, two weeks," Nina dished. And although she's currently in the middle of reading the book, she told us that fans need not fret over whether the movie will closely reflect the source material.

"The script is really, really, really amazing and the cast," she enthused. "The fact that Stephen wrote the book, and he wrote the screenplay and he's now directing, it's going to be really good to see that because a lot of the time when a book is made into a film, a lot of the original fans are scared it's going to be ruined. But when the visionary is the one who is going to see it is made the way he saw it and wants it to be seen, he's going to play it true to the original."

Nina has yet to meet co-star Emma, but she does go back (all the way to 2009!) with cutie pie Logan, who plays her brother in the film. "I know Logan Lerman. We actually shot 'The Vampire Diaries' pilot when 'Percy Jackson' was shooting in Vancouver, so we all stayed in the same hotel," she said. "He's a great kid. He's really talented. But I have not met Emma, or Paul [Rudd] or Mae [Whitman] or anyone else."

Starring in a beloved YA adaptation and hanging out with Logan, Emma and Paul? Sounds like a pretty awesome summer to us!

Are you excited for "Perks" to hit the big screen (especially knowing it's true to the book)? Tell us in the comments and on Twitter!

What a drag! Harry Potter star Emma Watson rubs shoulders with transvestite Rocky Horror fans on set of new movie

She's seen some magical transformations in her time as girl wizard Hermione in the Harry Potter movies - but Emma Watson was with some shapeshifters of a different kind on the set of her new movie yesterday.

Emma was filming The Perks Of Being A Wallflower in Dormont, Pennsylvania - and appeared to be acting out perennial student favourite The Rocky Horror Show.
While 21-year-old Emma was sporting a white lab coat - as worn by Susan Sarandon in the movie version of the stage play - her co-stars included one man dragged up as Tim Curry's transsexual character Dr Frank-N-Furter.

It's a wrap: Emma Watson was seen wearing a white lab coat dressed as the Janet Weiss character from The Rocky Horror Show on the set of her new movie

Saucy: Emma's co-stars yesterday were dressed as Dr Frank-N-Furter and Columbia while she was Janet Weiss

Another female co-star meanwhile was dressed as the movie's self-styled 'groupie' Columbia and the group were being escorted off set after the shoot had wrapped.
Emma plays a character called Sam, who takes her shy university freshman step-brother under her wing and educates him in the ways of the world.

According to the movie synopsis, she helps teach him about everything from drug use to suicide - as well as the Rocky Horror Show presumably - in what doesn't exactly sound like a cheery little number but will certainly see her career take a more risqué twist.
    It's due out next year.

New experiment: Emma is leaving Hermione and Harry Potter far behind for her new movie

Emma is currently living in Pittsburgh while she shoots the movie, which is adapted from the 1999 book by Stephen Chbosky.
Emma, who is worth an estimated £24million, will meanwhile be seen on our screens again next month in the final instalment of the Harry Potter movies.
Harry Potter And the Deathly Hallows Part II opens next month and Emma has revealed that she was 'genuinely terrified' when filming the war scenes.
The entire series climaxes with a battle between Harry and his Hogwarts cohorts against Lord Voldemort and the Death Eaters.

That's magic: Emma as Hermione, with Daniel Radcliffe (L) and Rupert Grint (C) in last year's Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 1

Emma explained: 'They put plugs in our ears to protect our eardrums, but you can still hear because you're so close to the bangs.
'There's this one scene where they detonated all of these bombs, like, right next to us. I was absolutely, genuinely terrified.'
Apparently, her co-star Helena Bonham Carter was actually hurt filming the scenes too.

The film opens in cinemas on 15 July.

Powtek napabili ako ng libro dahil sa thread na to.

No idea about this, really, until I got here and learned this has Logan Lerman *and* Emma Watson. It's all about introversion, right? And I'm a poster boy for introversion pa naman, so...hoping this is a good read.

    Some pics:

Top left: Charlie looks like he's about to cry...which he almost always does in the book. Such a woobie.
Top right: Charlie and Sam at the Big Boy?
Bottom left: Same as top right, only...they're in the library.
Bottom right: Same as top left, only...he's cowering behind a wall, in front of two girls wondering why he's about to cry.

I wonder if they're gonna show Logan Lerman crying about random things.

    Bump!

They've finished filming pero wala pang release date. Everyone's saying it's going to be amazing, pero we don't have a barometer as to how good it will be considering Stephen Chbosky (the author of the book) is also a first-time writer and director.
