    THE ULTIMATE YENG EXPERIENCE!

    by danselindistress (Via Tumblr)

I’ve been a fan of Yeng ever since, I’ve watched her in PDA since day one… gosh I was 11? Although we live in England, we try our hardest to be updated with filipino stuff most especially in the music industry. Being in a family that’s musically inclined (me: singing, guitar basic, flute basic. jam: pro guitar. angel: bass basic, guitar basic, violin basic, singing.) Yeng wasnt hard to like! She has this charisma of a kid with a voice that’s very mellow and powerful at the same time! Soon her music became the songs we sing in the shower, listen to before we sleep, as soon as we wake up and listen to as we walk to school! There’s something about her songs that you cant hate! songs such as Akin ka na, Jeepney Love Story, Wag kang magtatanong as well as Ligaw, Lapit and Time in are some of the few that I love! Infact what am I saying? I LOVE ALL her songs! From her own songs to her covers and renditions! I love how, whenever she sings, it’s better than her previous performance!! And she puts the right amount of emotion in a song. Not too OA and hindi kulang!

And that’s one of the reason why we grabbed the opportunity to go to the Annual London Barrio Fiesta. Originally we’d go there for the sake of it… 2 hours more or less travelling seeing as we’re from a town called Milton Keynes which is an hour away from London. This year, we had a reason!

So from Milton Keynes we travelled to Euston… from Euston to Hounslow… IT WAS HELL! Half the underground line was closed! Whuuut? So we had to take busses and such… and the funny thing was we didnt even know where our hotel was!! :/ after hours of walking, bus riding, under ground-ing… we were there! We only freshened up, then we were back on the streets to look for Lampton park where they held it… we took a different route form last year, obviously we were lost! We were hoping for Yeng on the saturday… but then we found out that she wasnt there thru her twitter… abit of a stalker there… we decided to go China town… Mama wanted to watch a play… we didnt… and Yeng and co. WERE WATCHING A PLAY! THE ONE THAT MAMA WANTED TO WATCH! D: that was very unfortunate of us! so we decided to go and have some bubble tea instead!

It was really nice!! quite pricey though… so we decided we’ll make our own! We baught sago and bubble tea straws! YEA-yuuuh!

Any who… as soon as we came back to the hotel…

    BANNER MAKING!

Took us forever thinking of what to put in the banners… We also had shifts on when to hold the banner! When it’s john lloyd, it was me. When it was KC, it was Kuya jerick! and it was yeng… the ultimate fan Jam Jam held it! Angel held the payong all the way! such a hard job! haha!

So we came there at like 10am and since then we’d already been waiting for Yeng! No sitting down… just standing up… we had no food too! It was just so sad how the people around us were damn rude! there was this guy that’s in about his 50’s or something… and he literaly shooed us off his ‘space’. Being infront, he should’ve expected getting swampped with loads of people. And this was at 11am ONLY! Being a teen ager who got thaught well by her parents, I apologised and moved…

Then came 1.30pm… It had probably rained about 4 times or so… we were soaked but the sun shone… no Yeng yet… Pooh came to brighten up the moods of everyone after an hour or so of promotions that no one really cares about… (i know they had to do it coz it was sponsors but come on? the people were in poor conditions already…) 30 minutes of Pooh… and this was us:

Weak with hardly any energy left… Everyone was tired… Cold air with the hot sun… not a good combination! We couldnt even pee because of 80,000 plus of people behind us! then Pooh finally announced Yeng… We were alert and ready! Banners Up, Voices high! And there she was…

Eeryone was up their feet… We were screaming as loud as ever! Unang kanta palang amazed na amazed na kami! And I already had my mind set on singing Time In for my Debut… i mean ‘Ako si Dana ako and dyosa…’ works well right? hehe!
then came her spiel… She’s so charismatic! And her talking voice is so adorable! She had this babyish voice that you cant say no to! And oh… She noticed our banner!! Her response was the cutest too! ‘Hindi pa nga po ako nagkaka boyfriend kasal na?’ haha! And can I just say that she’s not mataba! Not even chubby! maybe the face… ( i can relate!) but she’s actually mapayat! Her legs are so nice aswell! Her outfit suited her… and the hair… well, need i say more?!

After a little spiel she sung a beatles medley… and DAMN! She MADE THE RAIN STOP! I see and feel her passion as she sings! GIGIL! And because of that I love her even more! I could tell that she was enjoying the show, the crowd was enjoying her too! From the Manangs to the Manongs, Lolo’s to Lola’s ate’s to kuya’s and bunso’s!

She then sang an airsupply medley which I loved! I’m such an old school! It sounds so much better than our music today, and it’s more meaningful! Then she sang her masterpiece… Hawak Kamay which was like an Anthem that everyone was singing to!

I love how Yeng is one of the few artists who’s tightly holding on to OPM. OPM rules, but its a big shame that it’s being overtaken by foreign acts… Yeng should be like an ambasador of the Local Music or something… She’s a good example of patriotism in Music… Be it tagalog or english… but still SARILING ATIN!

All in all 6 hours in the rain and shine was worth it! I would do it again just saying… haha! Big thanks also to John Lloyd Cruz and KC Concepcion who saw our banner!! The things we do para mapansin! haha!

Yeng, you were amazing! Bow down talaga! It was a shame we didnt get to have my brother’s ukelele signed aswell as the Chalk Magazine I bought and the star magic catalogue! but it was worth it! Continue to inspire young minds and do what you do best!

    Other pics and comment…

Kc Was really pretty and very sexy! She was all giggles aswell!

The very famous banner… that KC replied to with ‘Yaan ang Di Ko Kayang Gawin!’ haha!

John Lloyd was John Lloyd! haha! So qwirky! Thanks for replying to our banner also… ‘Tae Ka Ba?’ haha!and sorry if we made you say the S word… :O

    After shock…

Yepp.. Looking as haggard as ever! But all in all worth it!

    Bow!
