But his focus now is redemption for the Maroons after the controversial and disastrous season last year when they were the defending champions. He wants no less than a finals appearance this year. 2-0 na sila so maganda chance.

By the way, the Maroons were UAAP champs for 5 straight years in 1973 to 1977 when current PFF president Nonong Araneta was playing for them. 7 Maroons then were in the National Team. Araneta at the same time played UAAP Basketball while getting a Civil Engineering degree...
Tapusin niya muna sem namin! Nakaka-isang practicals palang kami sa kanya, ano ba.

Which reminds me...isn't he the youngest coach last year ever to be granted a DFB coaching license? Or something to that effect. Anyway, we're all damn proud of our prof.

Goodie! How many goals are in Valmayor's name already, three? Really lucky win, palaging nasa UST daw yung bola kanina. Saklap nga lang at hindi namin makikita sa touchline si Sir Anto sa susunod na laro.

bakit thrown out si coach anto? ang galing pala ng profnamin sa futsal class haha! bigtime!

^ Excessive complaining yata. Di ko rin sigurado haha. Basta hindi natiis ni ref.

    Todays matches.

Former FEU keeper turned playmaker Ronnie Aguisanda scored the 1st goal on a free kick in the first half. It was a grounder that eluded the wall and the keeper. Striker Jesus Melliza had at least 2 chances to pad the lead in the 2nd half. With about 5 minutes left in the game, ADMUs Paredes found himself free on the left flank and lobbed it to Gabe Siojo at center for the glancing header that tied the match. Lucky 1st point for ADMU because FEU controlled the match...

In the 2nd game, UST controlled ball possession and even hit the goal post at least twice. UP striker Gerardo Valmayor cant break loose from UST captain and Azkal David Basa. The Tigers had several corner kicks but none found the net.

The 2nd half was a different story as the Maroons were getting nice runs on both flanks. The introduction of Ayi Ni Aryee as a holding midfielder allowed guys like Stephen Permanes and Nathan Octavio space to run around the FEU defense. The opening came in about 20+ minutes left in the game when Octavio was released on the left side against 2 FEU defenders and a Maroon coming in the center. Captain Octavio instead crossed to the right where an on rushing Valmayor took a touch and then fired home what would be the only goal of the match...

Coach Anto got a red and was evicted from the touch line for excessive complaining. He was already cautioned in the 1st half but complained again in the 2nd half forcing the referee to throw him out. Anto was complaining of non calls when his players were supposedly brought down.

Am from UP and I think the match was fairly officiated. If at all, those were incidental contacts that dont really merit a foul in the football manner. As they say Play On.

Still he was seen giving instructions from behind the bench and signalling the substitutions so essentially he was not missed...

Sino-sino nalang ba ang mga natira sa FEU Men's Football?

News reports are crediting the ADMU goal to #10 Ceasario Kapunan.
We thought Siojo's header was the goal when he was celebrating but Kapunan must have made a last tap in.

Christian De Juan did not play. Dont know the reason.

For FEU, aside from Aguisanda, theres the left winger Chio and right wing Akut. Coach Adolfo said 4 starters are rookies led by striker Melliza. That means the other strikers are with the team last year but were riding the bench because of the solid lineup they have.

sinuntok pala ni marcelo si melliza..kaya pala nasa likod sya...tandaan ko pa si marcelo sa iloilo noong unigames ng minura nya ang isang player..sa harap pa ng pamilya ng player na yon..pasalamat sya may pulis...

  16. #56
marcelo was trash talking melliza everytime melliza fails to convert. in this instance, melliza threw a sneaky elbow and marcelo retaliated with a punch to the head, if i recall. marcelo, who was wearing the captain's armband, was given a red card for the punching foul. that merits a 2 game suspension which means that he will only be available on matchday 6, the start of the 2nd round.

^ 6 more wins at balik ulit sa Diliman ang football title. That would be our 15th title.

*Pag nasweep kasi lahat ng games (no draw), automatic na champion na.
