I'm curious though if iba impression pag naumpisahan mo talaga.
What caught my attention pa nga was Yoo Ah-In (?), akala ko sya -rin yung long-haired guy na di nagsasalita sa Gumiho: Tale of the Fox's Child, magkamukha kasi.
Nga pala nagandahan din ako sa Gumiho: Tale of the Fox's Child. Baka pwede sa primetime ng GMA since fantaserye sya and involves kids.

i think Cruel Love was put on Telebabad because 1) its got KSW and 2) its got LYW, and i think GMA is trying to make everyone aware of her before the show Queen Seon Deok... and KSW has the hatak factor
Gumiho: Tale of the Fox's Child is such an amazing series!!! really underrated!!! Sungkyunkwan Scandal is just more than a Joseon F4, the story is just great, and Yoo Ah In and Song Joong Ki!!!!
Hello guys! Pasubscribe
The Baker King and Temptation of Wife are really good dramas.
Autumn's Concerto diba?
I already saw their trailer for AC and i must say na mukhang nakakaantig yung story.
What do you think?
Totally agree about Gumiho. So excited na nanalo silang tatlo na bida, especially the little girls.
I watched Oh My Lady, Personal Taste, and Cinderella's Sister at the same time and of the three, I'd pick OML to watch again over the other two. It was probably the fluffiest romantic drama of the year, but I can't help but love Chae Rim and SiwonAnd how many times did I cry because of that sweet little girl!

KCC announces new broadcasters
http://joongangdaily.joins.com/artic...sp?aid=2930371
The Korea Communications Commission, the country’s communications and broadcasting regulator, announced today which of the six media companies that were vying to break into the broadcasting business will get the licenses to operate a new general channels in the country.
They are JoongAng Media Network, Chosun Ilbo, Dong-A Ilbo and Maeil Business Newspaper.
They will be allowed to operate cable TV channels authorized to play general content: news, dramas, entertainment, sports and documentaries. Currently, only three terrestrial broadcasters - KBS, MBC and SBS – enjoy that right.
Of the three companies JoongAng Media Network, whose broadcaster will be named jTBC, scored the highest in the evaluation scheme used by KCC's screening panel at 850.79 out of 1,000, KCC said in a press conference this morning.
In the 1980s, the military government decided to ban companies from operating both television and newspaper businesses in an attempt to diminish the power of the press and to control public opinion.
But in July 2009, media reform bills were passed by the National Assembly allowing such a practice, after months of much painstaking controversy in the political, corporate, media, and academic circuits.
The new laws are expected to lead to an emergence of powerful media titans and bring unprecedentedly enormous changes in the Korean media industry that is already undergoing a major metamorphosis with the advent of new technologies and devices with which people get news and information.
Meanwhile, of the five other media companies that sought to operate all-news channels, only Yonhap News Agency got the green light, according to KCC today.
Korea currently has only two such networks: YTN and Maekyung Broadcasting Network.
The KCC is expected to hand out the broadcasting licenses in March and the broadcasters will likely launch their new channels in the second half.

Stoic anchors loosen up to lure viewers
http://joongangdaily.joins.com/artic...sp?aid=2931201
News anchors in Korea are infamous for their rigid facial expressions, regardless of whether they are delivering tragic news or introducing a human interest story. But with growing competition in television news, networks are encouraging anchors to loosen up their delivery in the face of falling ratings and lack of interest in television news.
MBC is at the forefront of change. It’s been about two months since the network shifted its primetime weekend news program from 9 p.m. to 8 p.m. - the first time in the show’s 41-year history that the show, which airs Saturday and Sunday, changed time slots.
MBC said in a statement in November that it is hoping to recapture its audience share, which has been declining for the last 10 years. Ratings for MBC’s news program were between 30 and 40 percent in the early 1990s, peaking at 45.5 percent in 1991. But by last October, they had dropped to around 6 percent.
The other notable change at MBC is anchor Choi Il-gu’s delivery. The 51-year-old veteran, who gained a following from 2003 to 2005 for his critical closing commentaries on government policies and politicians, has spiced things up a bit with a more casual tone.
Choi has dropped the emotionless style that was once popular on Korean news programs and talks almost as if he’s interacting with a neighbor. Choi sounded excited during Sunday’s show, when he told viewers, “I met IU yesterday,” just before offering commentary on the teenage singer’s popularity. The statement was remarkable because most anchors wouldn’t dare to make such a personal statement.
But these days, Choi regularly makes jokes during the program. In introducing an interview with comedian-turned-director Shim Hyung-rae, who plays Young-gu, a bumbling idiot in the new film “The Last Godfather,” Choi went so far as to imitate Young-gu.
Viewer reaction to Choi’s new style has been mixed. Some love it and others want him to return to his old self.
“I hardly watch the news, but you’ve made me an ardent fan of your news program,” a viewer with the ID annaq123 wrote on the program’s Web site.
Another viewer writing as GLEN7K said he wants Choi to be more dignified.
“Anchors are not comedians,” GLEN7K wrote. “News has to be more professional.”
Most Korean anchors are trained to deliver the news in a neutral manner that can come off as stiff or stoic, according to Lee Kyu-won, the head of KBS’s announcer department.
“We were trained that way because we have to be objective,” she said. “And we weren’t allowed to offer commentary. But these days the format is softer, and anchors are allowed to express themselves.”
Won Yong-jin, professor of journalism at Sogang University, said, “There are no written rules for anchors. It’s easy to find anchors from overseas who are known for their critical commentary, but that was uncommon here. Now, Korean news shows now trying various tactics to revive their lost credibility and popularity.”
Aside from MBC, other broadcasters are experimenting with different formats for their news programs.
Unlike most news programs that have a male and female anchor, the 8 p.m. news program on the government-run KBS2 had two female hosts from November 2008 to May 2010. According to a representative from the station, it was popular with women but men in their 40s and 50s didn’t like it.
And KBS2’s morning news program, which airs every day at 8 a.m., is one of the first television news programs to offer entertainment news.
“When we launched the news program back in 2007, we decided to offer entertainment news because the majority of viewers at that hour are housewives in their 30s, 40s and 50s who are interested in the nation’s entertainment scene,” said Jeong Young-hun, a KBS official.
The clothing and hairstyles of news anchors have also changed, especially for women. In 80s and 90s, most female anchors had bobbed hair and wore drab suits in black, white or gray. These days, however, female anchors have diverse hair styles - from medium-length cuts and buns to long wavy locks - and their suits are more colorful.
Despite the networks’ efforts to attract attention with a casual, lighter style, viewers seemingly need more time to adjust. According to TNS Media Korea, which analyzes television audience ratings, KBS News 9 - a typical news show - had the highest ratings for any news program. It had an audience share of 18 percent, topping the other two news programs on Sunday evening. The other primetime news programs from MBC and SBS earned an audience share of 10.7 and 11.6 percent, respectively.

KBS rate hike contrary to mission
http://joongangdaily.joins.com/artic...sp?aid=2928716
The board of directors at Korea Broadcasting System, a public entity by law, recently approved a plan to raise the mandatory license fee levied on all households. The increase of the monthly fee to 3,500 won ($3.11) from the current 2,500 won will increase the broadcaster’s annual revenue by 220 billion won. Yet the infusion of revenue will not be accompanied by any restructuring or cost-cutting efforts.
In principle, the need for a hike in the license fee is understandable. The fees were set in 1981 and remained at that level for three decades.
The broadcaster needs funding to prepare for its full transition to digital transmissions in 2012 and to improve viewership in distant areas. To maintain its competitiveness and identity as public broadcaster, it also has to produce quality programs and business initiatives.
The time may have come to talk about bringing the fees to a realistic level. But an action such as that cannot come for free.
First of all, KBS must enhance its public service role and reform its efforts in order to be worthy of public funding.
But its proposal to raise the fees is neither accompanied by a pledge to strengthen its public service role nor included with cost-cutting measures. KBS initially promised to reduce advertising revenue to hone its identity of independence and fairness. But it now says it will maintain ad revenue at current levels.
It doesn’t make sense, considering the broadcaster has been complaining that it put its public service role at risk by running sensational and highly popular dramas and entertainment programs in order to attract viewers and advertisers so it could survive.
But now it is saying it will go on pocketing its sizeable ad revenue on top of the increased revenue from the license fee hike. The broadcaster wants to enjoy the best of both the public and commercial world.
Strictly speaking, the owner of KBS is not the executives but the viewers who have to pay the license fees, which are as obligatory as electricity and tap water fees. The broadcaster may claim to be the voice of the people, but its actions show that it is far from it.
As a public entity, the fee hike plan must pass a review by the government committee on broadcasting and communication as well as a National Assembly subcommittee and a later parliamentary vote.
Somewhere along the line, we must find a way to encourage KBS to stay true to its public-service identity.
