Seriously, it's so annoying how lower ranked players &/or relative unknowns play the match of their lives to oust a top seed (in a grand slam no less!) then lose in the next round as if defeating said top player had as much value as actually winning the whole tournament! and I'm not just talking abt what happened to Rafa
I'm still disappointed that I can't watch Rafa play in Wimbledon anymore this year, but it's an unrealistic expectation to want him to win every tournament he's in. Life of a sports fan, i guess *sigh* As Rafa said, the last few months have been great for him (and us too!) so I'll just keep in mind the positives to come out of this early and shocking loss, that Rafa has more time to get the rest he needs and deserves then hopefully be able to prep for the Olympics. Whoever wins Wimbledon will probably be the favorite to win a gold medal as well so less pressure for Rafa. Just trying to be optimistic
Let's not take it away from Rosol. That will be the highlight of his career.
The Alma Nadal exhibition has been cancelled because of Rafa's tendinitis
Get well soon, Rafa
I hope Rafa is feeling better. He posted in fb another fishing pic and he has the biggest grin like he is having the time of his life I'm happy na din to see him so happy. Naks
Anyway fellow Rafa fans, baka may gusto sa inyo..selling my extra unused Wimbledon rain cape bought from the Wimbledon shop mismo. Link here
Take all the time you need, Rafa. Get well soon!
Super super gutted for Rafa! On the one hand he has a gold medal naman na, but he was so excited to be Spain's flag bearer!
Sino ng flag bearer ng Spain? Gasol? Casillas?
Sayang sana pwede si Rafa pa din kahit d na sya maglaro pwede rin sana yung isang Iker, si Iker Casillas
si Pau Gasol na ang flag-bearer ng Spain.
kainis!Rafael Nadal has pulled out of the US Open through injury
World number three Rafael Nadal has pulled out of the US Open after failing to recover from injury.
The 26-year-old's last action was at Wimbledon, in June, when he was beaten in the second round by Lukas Rosol, ranked 100 in the world.
He was then forced to pull out of the London 2012 Olympics with the injury, which has since failed to clear up.
"I am very sad to announce that I am still not ready to play," said Nadal in a statement.
He added: "I am sorry since I always found great crowds and great support, but I have to continue with my recuperation and preparation to be ready to play in the right conditions.
"I want to say hi and thanks to all the fans, in particular to the New Yorkers. I'll miss you all this year at the Open!"
Following his defeat to Rosol, Nadal said he was happy with his form, saying: "You win, you lose. The last four months were probably the best of my career. I just played an inspired opponent."
He also admitted he was looking forward to a rest before the start of the Olympics, where he was preparing to defend the gold medal he had won in Beijing.
Just three weeks later he pulled out of the event at Wimbledon, citing the fact he was not in the right "condition".
"I do not find myself in a condition to compete," he said. "It is one of the saddest moments of my career."
The US Open, which Nadal won in 2010, starts on 27 August with Andy Murray looking to win his first Grand Slam.
No Toronto, no Cincy. No USO
I really miss Rafa
I miss Rafa
Get well soon please
Tendinitis pa din ba ito?
Treatment is rest so we may have to wait longer for his comeback. Hopefully Rafa will not have to resort to surgery as a last option.
