Congrats to our boy for his 7-11! And congrats to us too! Was not able to watch the finals kasi I was too darn nervous to watch. Was just following tweets being posted regarding the match. When I saw that he won, medyo teary eyed pa ako. I am just soo happy that he won another grand slam and beat ND. Hopefully, this will give him the boost to beat ND in other GS this year.

What a tight first round match that was! Bellucci provided a real scare, especially after racing to a 4-0 lead in the first set. Rafa took a while to find his bearing. One can tell that Rafa made a conscious decision to direct the ball away from the Brazilian's forehand which meant less shots from Rafa's own forehand. As seen from Rafa's play today, there is so much room for improvement. Hopefully, he finds his rhythm in time for the big matches (Tsonga is lurking in the corner).

I just wish Rafa starts strong for a change. He can't afford to be a set down against top 10 players. Especially at the Olympics where it's just a best-of-three match.

Rafa is letting his nerves get the best of him, even turning to conduct unbecoming of a sportsman. He is far from from being calm, frustrated that he can hardly win a point against Rosol's serve. Aside from the fact that he is losing, Rafa's discomfort is very painful to watch.

Here's to hoping that somehow he finds a way to turn things around.

Rafa is now two sets to one down. What's sad about it is that Rafa lost those two sets by playing two loose games. He held the rest of his service games with conviction. The even sadder part is that this could have been a straight sets loss for Rafa, only valiantly saving set points in the first set.

Oddly enough, he has been in this position before. I do hope Rafa finds a way to get out of this hole.
