Kaya itaguyod niyo at ipagmalaki ang makukuha niyong edukasyon sa UP.

i got considered for my second choice, B landscape architecture. Is this career any good (salary-wise) in this country? or will i have to go abroad to get decent pay out of being a landscape architect?

mas okay ang Public health kesa sa Pharm if you want a Pre-Med course. More on disease prevention kasi ang inaaral ng Public Health so mae-expose ka talaga sa mga infos about almost all types of diseases.

    Hmm. Pumasa ko sa UPCAT.
Kaso 2nd choice ng campus lang.
So, UP Baguio ako, BA Language and Literature. XD

European Languages.

Pumasa din ako ng ACET, mas madali kaya mag transfer from UP-B to UP-D o Ateneo to UP-D? :\

Your question leaves a bad taste in the mouth. Is it only for money why you're studying?

Anyway, to satisfy your curiositty, landscape architects are rare in the country. The last time I heard, only three schools had B Landscape Architecture: UP Diliman, the University of San Carlos in Cebu, and the Bulacan State University. By the law of supply and demand, yes, you have could have a lot of career offers, but what companies will hire you, I don't know.

it's been said a million times, we'll repeat it again. Bawal magpareconsider sa UP Diliman.

at mas madaling matransfer kung galing kang another UP unit.

I advise you to take your slot and try to transfer after a year. Good luck!

    thanks a lot..
ofcourse not. i considered landscape architecture cuz i figured that i might find it enjoyable. but i believe that when you choose a course in college, you're also considering it as a path to your future career. and when you choose a career, you consider everything, like maybe how much you like the job, how hard its gonna be, etc.. and im sure all you guys consider the salary you get when you choose a career. cause ive asked some people about land arch already, i just wanted to know what you guys think. hope that i've made the "bad taste in the mouth" disappear.

ooww.. i see. kung pre med ang gusto therefore mas maganda ang public health.
pero paano kung ayaw mong mag pre med..magandang course pa rin ba ang public health? maraming job opportunities ba duon kahit hindi mo ituloy to ng master degree or pagiging doctor? and lastly..mataas ba sweldo doon? hehehe..super curios kasi ako tungkol sa PH eh.. :>

another question.. may nakita akong mga curriculum online, tapos nakita ko yung mga RGEP subjects. mukhang madaming interesting dun eh. kung ilang RGEP subj ang nilagay sa curriculum, yun lang ba talaga ang pwedeng i-take? or pwede mag-exceed sa nakalagay dun?

all students are required to take 15 units of AH, 15 units of SSP, and a determined number of MST units depending on your college (Engg-9 units, CSSP-15 units, Computer Engg-12 units). you may take up additional classes but those will be excluded from your GWA computation and you technically can't take additional classes unless you have already finished your required number of units to graduate.

this is how the rule should technically be applied:
say you finished your required units during the first sem of your fourth year and you don't want to graduate in october and have money to burn for additional classes, you can take RGEP classes in your second sem.

but then this is not practical, since students are now paying 1500/unit and in the event that you are an octoberian grad, you might as well spend the 6 months before the graduation next april to look for work or prepare for grad/law/med school.

you can also do this if you are running for honors. if for example a sem comes that a major is not being offered and you still need units to complete the 15, then enlist GEs so you won't underload.

also if for example, you are currently taking your 6th SSP class and you get a 1.0, you can't substitute that class for any of your previous SSP classes in which you got a 2.75.

edit: thanks for the correction, akosiblink and gs09.

correction lang luna sa technicality nung first paragraph mo.

actually, students are required 15 units of RGEP from the AH domain and 15 from the SSP domain.

for the MST domain, it depends on your course. for us engineering students, we are only required 9 units from the said domain. this may also be true for College of Science students. but for the other colleges, the same rule (15 units of MST) applies.

Computer Science will be the exception for the College of Engineering. 12 units of MST are required.

  19. #99
sooo.. does this mean that there is no possibility of taking up those additional RGEP classes even before senior year?
at mga RGEP lang ba ang mga pwedeng i-take? is it also possible to take an additional subj that's not a part of your curriculum nor RGEP?

according to my cousin who shifted out of Pharm to OrgComm, pinakamahirap nga ang Pharm.

well pwede, during summers kung gusto mo mag-summer pero ayaw mo ng major or walang offered na major or kung mahilig ka mag-majors pag summer (because apparently, mas madali ang summer classes) at gusto mo naman lubusin yung hanggang last sem mo edi you can plan out what you're gonna take every sem.

kaya it's essential to get a copy of your degree curriculum when you first enroll para you can keep track of what classes you have to take and you can plan paano mo isisingit ang additional GEs na gusto mo.
