If i ask OUR about my UPG, will they give it to me?

^ yes, they will. However, you can only do so after a year has passed after you took the UPCAT. (Can anybody confirm this? I'm not quite sure.)

I asked for my UPG when I was in the second sem of my first year. They gave it for free. Dati kasi may bayad ngayon wala na.

^yes. after a year pa pwede makuha ng mga qualifiers yung UPG nila. yung sa mga non-qualifier lang ang ibinibigay through mail para makapagpareconsider sila sa ibang campus.

To the poster: None of us are part of the UP administration or any management you might be pertaining to. If you have concerns, there is a separate UAAP thread and you should post them there. We don't talk about the UAAP here, nor do we care about it.

incoming freshman po ako sa UPD. passed my first choice which is BA Broadcast Communication. pero nag-aalinlangan pa rin ako dun. torn ako sa 3 choices. yang BroadComm, SpeechComm and Film.

enlighten me a little bit. anong pagkakaiba nilang 3 and what could be my possible jobs sa mga yan?

AFAIK,

BroadComm leads to a career in broadcasting;
SpeechComm leads to a career in either broadcasting or theater;
Film leads to a career in film and television production and directing.

I have friends from Film and they make short films for their theses.

I actually got mine on my first year (before enrolment), pero they placed it in a sealed envelope kasi OUR lang ang pwede tumingin. I was an UPCAT passer (Manila) trying my to see if UPLB would allow me admission to any of their engineering courses. DOST scholar kasi ako so baka yon ang dahilan ng pagpayag nila.

And yes sinilip ko pa din ang laman ng envelope ko. Para-paraan lang yan para hindi mahalata, hehe!

What would be the best in terms of job opportunities, and enjoyability of the program?

How would shifting affect my org choices?

Job opportunities = BAA. Finance + Accounting package na yun. Pwede rin sa Marketing, Sales, Management, or Operations. Pwede ring mag-CPA Lawyer.

Pero kung "enjoyable", no way! Well, siguro minsan. Ultra competitive, pero di naman to the point na naghihilahan na kami pababa. And most of the time hindi siya rewarding, like mag-b-block off ka ng one whole week to study for a 5 to 6-hour accounting exam tapos iiyak ka na lang sa grade mo, yung mga ganong shits. But hey, lahat ng courses may ups and downs. So I suggest don't put too much weight on the program's enjoyability.

If you're still considering shifting to BAA, don't forget to join UP JPIA on your second year! Stress reliever 'to ng mga BAA students (as well as ex-BAA students). It'll make the rest of your BAA life enjoyable, promise!

gud pm po... ask ko lang po kung maganda rin yung course na physical therapy sa up manila... dun po kasi ako na qualify eh... medyo may konting background po ako kaso masyadong minamaliit ng classmates ko... thanks po... magbabakasakali na rin kung may ka coursemate ako dito...

gud pm po... ask ko lang po kung maganda rin yung course na physical therapy sa up manila... dun po kasi ako na qualify eh... medyo may konting background po ako kaso masyadong minamaliit ng classmates ko... thanks po... magbabakasakali na rin kung may ka coursemate ako dito...
